I know this is debatable but who do you think is the best mathematician ever? or who is your favourite?

Terry Tao :)

Actually I'd say that Riemann was a bit of a gun.
I agree with Riemann but would you call Terrence Tao one of the greatest mathematicians?

Yeah Gauss is my favourite but you didn't include Euler on your list

Einstein's really good but he is more physics than actual pure math.

That still makes him a mathematician in an applied sense. All those theorems he came up with were a result of mathematics. One of his well known quotes: "Don't worry about your difficulties in mathematics. I can assure you mine are greater!"

I know where your coming from but i think this thread should be dedicated to pure mathematicians.

Lol, wasn't he a mystic in a 'magical' society? Still, Maths has nothing to do with what you beleive in. I voted for Euler, but there are heaps to choose from.

Carl F. Gauss is my favourite because he came up with so much stuff which he didn't even publish which ended up being major part of mathematics. Plus, he could correct his dad's taxes at the age of 3.

..yeh Euler did lots of great things too. (eg. euler's formula (though on wikipedia it says this(in a similar form) was proven by Roger Cotes before Euler published it) and the V-E+F=2 formula).. but i guess there are so many greats out there, and i didn't want to list them all.
