Loved it.
Small novella style but packed with everything you could want.

He had such a quirky writing style.

Yeh a lot of parable was packed into Animal Farm. It was one of the more enjoyable books I had to read for English.
true it was like almost everything had an alternate meaning
animalism = communism

i found it to be fairly predictable as in what was going to happen

not a bad book and the fact that it was 120 pages makes it even better :haha:

it's a parody of the russian revolution. of course it's gonna be a fairly predictable book if it's based on that
but yeah, good book, enjoyed reading it

I am from former USSR so i found that book very enjoyable. I read it when i was young and didn't catch on to a lot of the metaphors and references. But re-reading it last year left me with a deeper appreciation for Orwells writing style and talent.

i thought it was really good and clear, and even without the double meaning, it's a good book i'd read again

I thought it was great. It was straight to the point, not wasting time with irrelevant information. One of the best books I've read.

I loved it, when we did it in Year 8.

Definitely one of the best books I've read. The person who told me that George Orwell couldn't write must've been dropped on their head as a baby.

I'll have to go back and reread it--last time I read it was back in Year 10 in 2003. I do remember enjoying it, though I didn't get the references. Now that I'm a bit more aware of the history of Russian communism, I hope I'll be able to spot the references.

We now need to find a related text, any idea's ?
has to somehow incorperate authority and the individual.
