I've got a question about God...if anyone can answer it that'd be nice...

i went to a christian primary school and was taught a lot about God...

So God created the world, then people became sinners, and according to the Bible God is going to destroy the world because of that.

But he's supposed to know everything including the future. So he knew that Adam and Eve would eat the forbidden fruit, still he put the tree there. He knew that humans would become sinners and he would kill all of them someday, still he created them. He knew that he would destroy the world someday, still he created this world. Why?

i know ppl are not supposed to question God at all, but srsly i dont get it.
pffffffff thats a real hard question to answer that probably has a billion answers to depending on who u ask. If their is a god, i rekon he made it cuz he was bord shitless. And he put the tree their because he couldnt punish them if they didnt do anything. I dunno. google that shit

If you don't have anything helpful to add to the discussion, greekgun, then don't.

It's one of the internal contradictions I regularly argue with Christians about, and they invariably mumble something about "free will".

SHE may want opinions, not to be insultingly fobbed off to a google search.

And I'll start taking you seriously once you start actually using real words

Greekgun made a genuine attempt to answer the question and came to a valid conclusion - that the ultimate purpose of creation is unknown to man

I dont view this q as v significant though - the first issue of faith is simply conceeding that we were created in the first place

I wholly endorse kwayera in any displays of indignant will she cares to make.

I hope to see more outrageous bitchiness and general contempt for the users of this forum in future.

But none of them can be found in such numbers and force as within the Christian community.
Why tell a friend a secret or ask them for emotional guidance, when instead you can communicate with the Creator of the Universe, with the knolwedge that He and His servants have the full weight of universal divinity upon their side.
because sometimes people need guidance or support from someone that will talk back, i have nothing against christians/catholics or whoever you decide you are. everyone has an opinion/belief and i think everyone needs to respect that. based on events in my life i believe that god does not exist, but that doesn't mean he doesn't, i also believe you should be judged by who you are. not what you believe. true some people find support from god and i respect that. but in my case (and alot of people i know) its never happened.

perhaps we cannot prove the existence of god because of the physical limitations of our perception.

I have to personally agree with you.

BUT ! ! ! It's upto what ever the person believes in, in weather god really exists.
Because neither the scientists or believers of god can REALLY prove that god exists. Its all based on theory's.

Although I'd like to ask one more question. Who or what created god? Because there are a lot of people saying that there was a beginning to everything and that it was god, but where did god come from, he couldn't have just appeared out of no where and decided to create everything.

So im sort of swaying to the scientists theory's as they have more theoretical proof. eg. the quarks theory etc.

So yea.....

Yeah. If people want to believe in it, you can't really stop them.

But still, in this day and age - believing in fairy tales is a little silly for grown people.

Christians laugh at the Aboriginal dreamtime stories, and Monks laugh at Catholics...

Everyone has their own argument, and each religion was created to try and give us a nice, neat answer to fel better about the virtual brick wall we hit when it comes to pondering the questions of life and all that jazz.
