Dress smart casual, but don't stress about it...
I mean Maccas would hire someone with good availability even if they rocked up in thongs, boardshorts and a hawaiian shirt.

You've got a pretty high chance of getting hired if you've got an interview, so yeah just keep calm and you should be right. =]

The success of McDonald's is largely dependent on having strong and capable employees, such as yourself, on board. At Mcdonald's, we recognise the contribution you will make in helping us maintain the position we enjoy in the industry.

In turn, we feel that we have a great deal to offer you in terms of career opportunities, rewards and recognition programmes, and benefits.

In this position, you will report to the Restaurant Management team and perform the duties and responsibilities required by McDonald's. From time to time this may also include additional duties, which are in line with your skills and competence.

On your first day at McDonald's Plaza, you will be taken through a restaurant specific orientation, which will provide you with more information about the restaurant. When you arrive at the restaurant on this date, you will be given your uniform, but you will need to bring black, low-heeled, polishable leather shoes, and black socks.

Please note that on some occasions it may be necessary to transfer between restaurants due to operational requirements or to facilitate your training. We will of course take into account your personal circumstances should this be necessary.

To prepare you for your first day, you will need to sign up to our online web portal called metime. Please visit "metime" and click on the 'If you are a new user click here to setup your account' link.

You will then need to enter your email address in the top box and click submit. This will send you email which will allow you to register.

You will be required to enter details of a bank account in your own name (BSB and account number). This information will only be used for entering you on the restaurant's payroll system so you can be paid for all hours worked. You will then be required to complete the "Welcome to Maccas" module and Restaurant Basics quiz. This will take you around 2 hours to complete, but don't worry you will be paid for these hours in your first pay cheque!

When you have completed the "Welcome to Maccas" module (100% completion) and passed the Restaurant Basics quiz (80% or higher), we will call you to notify you of your first shift.

It is important that you complete these within 7 days of receiving this email.

Tell me if you get paid for the "Welcome to Maccas" module, because I sure didn't. HA. Make sure you ask them, at the Orientation if you get extra pay on Public Holidays too. URRGH, New Years Day is clearly a Public Holiday, but my shifty Restaurant Manager tells me apparently, 'the company doesn't recognise it as a holiday', so who knows?

5. ROSTERS

• Shifts may be altered at any time by either, mutual consent or otherwise by
giving notice prior to the commencement of their shift (of preferable one
hour). The employee shall give the employer as much notice as possible in the
event of an inability to attend for a rostered shift.

• In the event of the employee no longer wishes to accept engagements with the
employer or the employer no longer wishes to offer engagements to the
employee, the employee or the employer shall notify the other party without undue delay

NOTES FOR REGULAR PART-TIME & FULL TIME EMPLOYEES:

1. HOURS OF WORK

• Minimum engagement of 2.5 hours per shift.
• Maximum engagement of 9.5 hours per shift (exclusive of meal breaks); except
that overtime will not be payable until after 11 hours on one "long day" per
week. (i.e. the first "long day" occurring per week)

• At the time of engagement the employer and the employee shall agree in
writing on a minimum number of hours to be worked each week. This minimum
must be less than 38 and can be varied at any time by agreement between the
employer and the employee.

• Up to 38 hours can be worked per week over 5 days per week; or

• Up to 38 hours can be worked per week over 6 days per week provided only 4
days are worked in the following week.

2. OVERTIME

Overtime is payable for work in excess of:

• 9.5 hours per day (exclusive of meal breaks). Except that overtime will not be
payable until after 11 hours on one "long day" per week (i.e. the first "long day"
occurring per week);

• 38 hours per week; and/or

• 5 days per week, or six days where the employee works no more than four days
the following week.

The overtime rate is:

• time and a half for the first 2 hours, double time thereafter; except that

• on a public holiday all overtime is payable at double time, with a minimum
payment of 3 hours.

3. PUBLIC HOLIDAYS

• Part-time employees may be required to work on public holiday and are paid at
rate of double time for all hours worked.

If the holiday falls on one of the employee's regular days and they are not
rostered to work, they must be paid the hours that they would have been
rostered to work at single time.


• If a holiday falls on a regular day off of a part-time employee, no benefit is
made.

4. BEREAVEMENT LEAVE

• In the event of a death in the immediate family member or a member of their
household, a part-time employee shall be granted leave up to and including the
day of the funeral. Such leave shall be with pay, for the number of ordinary
hours worked by an employee up to a maximum of three ordinary days work.

• The employer may request proof of such death.

5. TERMINATION OF EMPLOYMENT

To terminate employment, the following notice or payment in lieu thereof, must be
given by the employer or the employee:


Not more than 1 year (of service) At least 1 week of notice
More than 1 year but not more than 3 years (of service) At least 2 weeks of notice
More than 3 years but not more than 5 years (of service) At least 3 weeks of notice
More than 5 years (of service) At least 4 weeks of notice

In addition to the above, the employer must give the employee an additional one
weeks notice if the employee is over 45 years old and has completed at least 2 years
continuous service with the employer.

6. ANNUAL LEAVE AND ANNUAL LEAVE LOADING

• Four weeks paid annual leave, based on the agreed number of ordinary hours
per week, will be allowed after each year of continuous service. Where the
agreed number of ordinary hours per week has varied over the relevant year,
annual leave shall be based on the average ordinary hours worked per week.

• Such leave will be taken in a manner and at times agreed between the
employer and the employee, provided that due regard must be given to the
operating demands of the restaurant and leave must be taken within 6 months
of falling due. The employer can give an employee two weeks notice to take
annual leave.

• Pro rata annual leave payments will be made on termination of employment.

• Where a public holiday falls during a period of annual leave, the annual leave
shall be increased by one day.

• Annual leave loading of 17.5% is payable on annual leave for full-time and parttime
employees

7. SICK LEAVE

• Part-time employees receive a pro-rata amount of 76 ordinary hours paid sick
leave per year of service.

• In the first year of service, sick leave accrues on a proportionate basis during
the first ten months service.

• In order to qualify for paid sick leave the employee must also notify the
employer at least two hours prior to the rostered shift, or as soon as reasonably
possible, of an inability to attend.

• The employer can ask for evidence of illness e.g. medical certificate. Medical
certificates shall indicate the nature of the illness suffered by the employee

8. PERSONAL LEAVE TO CARE FOR AN IMMEDIATE FAMILY OR HOUSEHOLD MEMBER

• An employee who is responsible for the care and support of an immediate
family member or member of their household can elect to take sick leave,
unpaid leave and annual leave (up to 10 single days of annual leave per year)
to provide care for such person if they are ill.

• Immediate family includes a spouse, child, parent, grandparent, grandchild or
sibling.

• The employee shall give as much notice as possible prior to taking such leave.

• The employer may request proof of illness of the person being cared for.

hi, i applied online for McDonalds and i was notified via email to go for an interview. Just wandering if i still need to bring a resume as i did not give one in with my application? And also where do u get a BSB number? it tells me to bring it.

At McDonalds interviews they usually don't care about resumes.

You give them your Bank State Branch (BSB)
& Account Number AFTER you have got the job.

Bring your resume in case, they might ask to see it and you'll look like a nong if you don't have one.

You can find your BSB and account number on your bank statements.

Usually they print out your application form, but its not going to hurt to have your resume with you.

But pretty much as long as your an Australian citizen, have good availability, good eye contact (front area crew) and you have some sort of intelligence(although sometimes I do wonder) and you get an interview you've got the job.

Make sure you give them your TAX file number too.

Ok. The manager i was so suppose to do the interview with doesnt work there anymore, the new manager was busy so she told another girl to interview me. The interview went well and was quick, and i was told that id be contacted soon. Its been 3 days and i still haven't been called or emailed.


Are these indications that im not going to be accepted?

So like can I work a three hour shift ?
I remember my friend telling me it was three but i can't remember..

And any other info like: tips ...and things to expect would be nice..

Apparently they've changed it now, my friend does 2 hour shifts, which is ridiculous. It depends which award you're on.

yeh 3 hours is the minimum. My restaurant was evil and made me work 5 hours and 50 mins per shift. They didn't make it 6 becus otherwise they had to give me a break. Very sneaky managers ;(

Confused About Mcdonalds

Hi i went for an interview at mcdonalds some of my friends who work there say that you get $5.00 something when you start off for the first 10 - 15 weeks is this true
