hey, im in year 11 now and doing

eng 3 unit
maths 3 unit
bio
legal
chem

im planning to drop english extension and pick up another unit for maths so, i have 4 units maths.

i know i havent picked so-called the best scaling subjects, and heard that both bio and legal studies don scale very high. im aiming to get into med and even regretting if i shoudve chosen the 'better scaling subject" like physics.
however, i know that what ive done is what ive done.
so im trying my hardest to get good marks in legal and bio.
but is it THAT bad that i chose legal and bio? i mean, if i do good in them, would that still bring me down?

also im not really sure if i should take 10 units or 12 units.
so my final subjects would look like

eng adv
maths 4 unit
chem

bio OR legal OR both

what should i do?

Subjects don't scale, marks do.

If you do well in anything, you will get a good UAI. Simple. Of course, the same mark in Physics will be scalled "better" than the same mark in Bio, but Bio is "easier" so you should do "better". Other than that, just do your best.

Too late to change anything.
Do 12 units.
Bio is useful for med.

Might as well just do 4u eng, 4u maths and chem. That's a really strong combination. Then you can do bio/legal as well. If you only want Adv English, then you should do 12 units (if you do decide to do 10, do bio)

depends on if you can handle the workload of 10 or 12 better. Neither subject scales well, if I were you I'd choose on what I just said, but also where your strengths lie and if doing bio would be a good prerequisite to what you wanna do in uni. Doing well in a subject can hardly bring you down; but you'd need at least a couple of marks higher in these subjects to match the scaling contributions of other subjects

i'd keep your 3u eng , take the 4u math and drop your worst subject.
