you need a B Engineering to be an engineerfinance, engineering, software stuff, mathematician, statistician, teacher (lol), operations research
but u should stick to actuary bcuz its the best maths related job by far
If all else fails: lecturer and/or tutor. =PWhat are some good career options with maths on its own? (in case if I drop out of actuarial and choose another major)
Math teacher?
ehh, both of these are probably going to be a last resort (although I'm considering tutoring 3U and 4U maths next year, depending on my marks)If all else fails: lecturer and/or tutor. =P
I think I'll be doing Comm/Adv Maths at UNSW, just hoping to get in, otherwise it's just plain Commerce/Science (maths major) if I don't make itBut a lot of Actuaries, not so much anymore, have plain of maffs degrees, and just did the IAA exams, and became associates and fellows.
Also, you'll be doing commerce/adv maths yeh? just do fins, and maths as majors, work in any bank, or insurance company.
Don't most Math's lecturers have postgrads...? It isn't easy to become an university lecturer, or so I've been told.If all else fails: lecturer and/or tutor. =P
They've already learnt it...therefore they aren't interested in what you've got to teach. More often, they'll ask you ridiculous questions just to troll you. That's how it works at my place.I'd only ever be a math teacher if I could teach at a selective high school.
You get to teacher kids who want to learn, and kids who've already learnt it.
Most maths lecturers are doctors or higher. But yeah, if nothing else - Masters or a PhD is always appealing to me, so... perhaps the same will occur for 4025808 (did I get it right? =P).Don't most Math's lecturers have postgrads...? As for career options, try using google. I can't see too many opportunities for Pure maths outside of academia...although Applied is a different scenario.
Really? I'd respond with ultra hard tests and assessments designed to break their will to live. =PThey've already learnt it...therefore they aren't interested in what you've got to teach. More often, they'll ask you ridiculous questions just to troll you. That's how it works at my place.
LOL dude idk if I really want to do a PhD or masters at this rate coz I might want to do something else in my life.. maybe debuting in the mandopop industry? :LMost maths lecturers are doctors or higher. Maths degrees have very wide applications - even pure maths. Sometimes, they just look for the analytical skills or just maths skills that a pure mathematician would have. Applied and stats have set topics, but pure mathematicians can slot in quite well in other jobs - from what I've been told.

Pure maths is maths for the sake of maths. It gets pretty ??? pretty quickly, I hear. But you get to choose your major in like 2nd or 3rd year and you'll have some inkling of all three areas of maths so you can switch majors.LOL dude idk if I really want to do a PhD or masters at this rate coz I might want to do something else in my life.. maybe debuting in the mandopop industry? :L
but then again I need some sort of job security so I asked this question...
at this rate, I'm thinking of doing pure maths but I heard it's crazy as fuck though...
