...I do medical science at Usyd and it does not offer undergraduate medicine. Does the uni which offers undergraduate medicine (eg UWS, UNSW) prefer to take medical science/advanced science students from their uni before they take students from other unis?

nope - doesn't matter what undergrad degree your studying - only thing that take into account is GPA.
