I haven't updated my sig yet but my ranks and marks as are follows2u Maths 22/88 (75% and 66%) (also includes all extension people)Standard English 2/66 (74%, 100%, 80%)Economics 3/15 (85% and 87%)business 3/66 (100%, 98%, and 98%) (it's really tight)Legal 1/15 (100% and 100%)Ipt not sure but around 5/28 (dont care)School rank is 400+ however that is due to a line of shut cohorts. My current one is really the best we have ever had. To note last year in a cohort if 60 we had 7+ 90+ atars

I'd estimate anything between 89 and 93. It's difficult to determine to extreme precision as a rank 400 cohort can drastically change year to year.

I reakon 88-92 maybe, its difficult to say with this one. Dont give up on IPT, it might end up counting over 2 unit.

I need 88 for my course ( excluding points for academic advantage) so I am feeling happy

I just would like. 90+ ATAR to ensure a spot.

I won't give up on ipt, I just put alit more effort in other subjects.

I know a 400+ ranked school would be hard, but if you know which school I go to we almost go shut down because the government wanted to sell the land for money as it is on the lane cove river and subsequently the good students left, leaving bad ones accounting for the bad rank.

However every teacher has said our cohort is significantly better than everyone before. I mean almost everyone in my school gets a band 4/5 for all there subjects in previous years so I an excited to see what ours can achieve

No way 88-92. Youd be touching 93-95 with those ranks.
Not necessarily at a rank 400 school - OP is probably not yet at "dux level". A lot of these schools have dux at 93-95 depending a lot of the top student though. 89+ is much more reasonable.

Given that 10% of your previous years cohort got above 90, I'd say your school is bottom heavy (i.e. only a small proportion of people get band 6's whilst the rest do crap). At my school (rank~300) we also had 10% of people get over 90, but our band 6's were a distributed across more people, as opposed to just a small few who get 90+ in multiple subjects.

Probably best way to put it.

My school is extremely bottom heavy, that is the majority of the school does average Hiwever the small top, maybe around 10% do very well. That's always been the pattern.

As I said 6-8 people of 70 odd people last year got 90+. They ranged from 90 to 97

Also consider the scaling of the subjects. A straight 90 in every subject will yield ~94 ATAR. Considering that it's a rank 400 school, I'd assume that only first and second at best with Band 6.

I estimate OP to have these assessment marks (roughly):
English (Standard): ~84
Mathematics: ~80
Economics: ~85
Business Studies: ~87
Legal Studies: ~92
IPT: ~82

This gives me an estimate of around 90 but I expect that it could be a bit higher and so 89-93.

I I have to agree with above, usually we get 1-2 band 6s and a lot if band 5's in the top bit

A 84 is going to be hard to get in standard. However last year the guy who came first in standard English got 87

7/60 90+ atars.. i'd expect your rank to be higher.

Last year we had 10/70 90+ atars at my school and we jumped from 280ish to 150ish.

Problem with maths, my rank includes 30 odd ext 1 and 2 people. Plus between me and first place is approximately 8 marks and we have only done 40% of our assessments

The Extension 2 people usually aren't included in the ranks unless/until they drop to MX1. However, they're still your cohort and their other subjects (MX1/MX2) should be ignored as it's them that you are competing against.

Well, when your school submits marks to BOS, they obviously won't include Ext 2 students for Mathematics, but they will definitely include Ext 1 students.

8 raw marks is nothing, given a good HSC performance. When I did 4U, I recall something like 28 raw marks between me and first, but by the HSC, it was a matter of 6 marks; we both got E4's.

Yeah. The first assessment worth 10% made me 2.5 marks behind first and the half yearly another 6
