So I've just checked my AllYours website and I'm set to be paid about 50% of what I'm owed for last week.

I don't want to go into the details but I absolutely need 100% of my pay this week. Does Woolworths still do that 'emergency' payment? Was going to ring the cashier but she'd gone home by 2pm.

Thanks guys.

Good luck, Matt! Hope you're still occasionally around here.

Has anyone else been nearly skinned alive by customers desperate for the sold out Aussie Animals books? Apparently they're getting some more in:

http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/ne...ock-aussie-album/story-fngr8i5s-1226740362575

Funny though, haven't seen any CoreComms about it :S
nope, but I always get skinned alive because people didnt read the tag that discounts only apply if you have an everyday rewards card... lucky I got my trusty spare everyday rewards to keep customers happy

I keep a pile of the brochures with the temporary cards in them next to me on the register. If a customer doesn't have a card, and they have any reward special, I scan it and put the brochure in their bag.

Our 2ic has a card that she scans whenever a customer doesn't have one... which is problematic because if the customer wants a fuel docket, then they don't get it. On the plus side, her EDR rate is 71%, the rest of us are around 30% ha.

We do, but it's a pain, so make sure you express how urgent having all your money is.

I'm back!!!!

I came in to this thread tonight to ask for some advice, but then I read a one year old unread PM from nanakid and I thought I owed some of the older posters that I remember well (Matt, BSammy, Britto, T360, ekul etc) an explanation as to why I suddenly dropped off the face of the earth (and why I still come back every now and then for advice!).

Some of you will remember back to early/mid 2010 when someone from my store (who I had been somewhat involved with) caught me out on this thread. After that it was a complete kick in the guts to look at him and know that he had been stalking completely everything that I had posted, particularly what had happened between us. So that made me reassess things. Then I started dating my now fiance who was a duty manager in the store I was at, things got serious pretty quickly and I didn't want him knowing about this forum. I have lurked a lot, read a lot, but since then I have finished my degrees and worked in other jobs and thought that my time at woolies was simply Sundays for penalty rates to pay our mortgage down and save for a wedding. Until now.

In August my fiance was offered an amazing promotion at a regional store...company housing, not even too remote a location etc etc. Part of our negotiations with HR was that I would be in a salaried role once a 'suitable' role became available...I knew our HR specialist personally and had done so for many years, so me being way too gullible I trusted her. Since I've been here I've been passed over for a few roles, one of which our SM admitted I could have done but he felt more confident going with someone who he had worked with for longer than 8 days, the other one the ASM and departing DM insisted I would be able to do but the SM was hesitant that I wasn't the right fit (I actually agreed with him tbh).

So my question is, what the hell is the Inventory Fresh role all about? This is the latest one that the ASM has thrown up at me, but he won't give me anymore details until he definitely knows where the SM's thinking is at (the ASM is quite new as well). I had never heard of it until two weeks ago, not sure if other stores have launched it. My only fresh experience is to the level of Bakery 2IC and that wasn't for very long.

On another note, Matt its so great to hear that you've got new things ahead of you. I remember when you first posted in this forum and you were so young and naive, you sound like you've achieved some great things over the last two years or so. Best of luck!

Anyone who read this all, thanks heaps...I'm sorry I dropped off the face of the earth completely but its good to see some familiar posters still here. Oh and nanakid I replied to that PM you sent me last November :p

Not entirely sure how it works, as my store doesn't have it yet, but it should be similar to the inventory manager for longlife except you look after all the fresh departments. So you do gapscans, negatives, low PI checks, investigating over stocks and possibly the monthly stock takes for produce, meat, bakery, deli and seafood.

got some new stores opening nearby, applied for one and hoping for a decent position there. feeling pretty positive at the moment, but also it will change my mind on whether i want to stay at woolworths much longer. i like working for them but at the moment where i'm at is not exactly the most positive work environment

Is wearing a hat in the produce department a legal requirement, or just company policy? I know hats or hairnets are required when actually preparing food & while in the prep area, but what about when you're just on the shop floor?

It's company policy when you're working, but if you're just chilling around the store then no need

Speaking of company policy, saw this on all yours today

Hold The Phone!

undefined Did you know you are allowed to carry your mobile phone on you while at work? It's a new policy that has recently been introduced to supermarkets.
Your mobile phone must only be used during paid working hours for work-related purposes that show a benefit to customers. For example, to look up product or pricing information or to determine an aisle location for a product.
In the interests of safety, you are not allowed to use your mobile phone when undertaking activities that may harm yourself or customers. For example, by using your phone in fresh departments which could impact food safety.
Please note that carrying your mobile phone with you to support customer service is completely voluntary.
Personal entertainment devices such as MP3 players and iPods are not permitted during paid working hours.

new uniform website

https://www.totalimagegrouponline.com/woolworthslimited

order before janurary to get discount
also a free shirt if you order before march

new uniforms start in march.
I've ordered a new shirt, but I can't for the life of me find this "USE SUBSIDY" button (because of their web developers?). I sent them an email, but I only ordered one shirt when checking out and paid with a credit card... will I have to complete a new order, or can they just manually fix my order up and give me two of the same shirt?

The one shirt that's on backorder, I bet I'll be waiting for aaaaaages.

Yeah, that would have been my guess :)

You can do all that on the RF gun. Or ISIS. I can only see a benefit if the Woolies phone system goes down, like it did the other night.

There was scheduled maintenance at 9pm Monday night, but that's NSW time... us QLDers are an hour behind you guys! No phones, no internet, no epay, bla bla bla and EFTs went into fallback mode at 8 o'clock :( lucky we had only like 10 customers between 8 & 9 :)
-----------------
EDIT: BTW, in case you're wondering (I know you won't be BSammy, but in case there's anyone who doesn't know this), to find a product, go ISIS, click Items, under description, type generalised term for the product. Once you find it, you can double click into it and find the reference number and item location. For example, if you're looking for Home Brand Baby Wipes, type something like "Baby" or "Wipes", and scroll through to find them.

Same with the RF gun, login, go 5,5,1, scan the barcode of the item and press L, and it will come up with the item location, with the Aisle, Bay and Shelf, although I only take note of the Aisle number, because Bay and Shelf are usually wrong.

Yeah but we don't even have a gun for each deprtment, (i think we're one or two short) and a lot of people don't know how to use isis.

I like the ISIS search, I easily find products all the time with it. Although I haven't really used the Woolworths app so I can't really compare it.

If Woolies bring in the free WiFi, then I will use it, but not when I'm the one getting charged.

Yea the uniforms for the all the departments are really nice. The checkout shirts look really good! Sucks though that I'm in nightfill and the shirts haven't really changed.
