In your opinion, what is the upmost greatest mathematical discovery of all time and why?
Actually, we have to define what addition is and be able to avoid the self referential paradoxes that Russell encountered in trying to establish a perfect foundation for all of mathematics...1+1=2
Just about everything else follows from that.
Of course, though we had to originally base our mathematical systems on primitive economics, namely quantifying and trading, hence I would contend that 1+1=2 is probably the original gateway to mathematics by humans.Actually, we have to define what addition is and be able to avoid the self referential paradoxes that Russell encountered in trying to establish a perfect foundation for all of mathematics...
That was just a thing which made us realise how the world works against our idealistic desires. It's not that big of a discovery. What about Gödel's Incompleteness Theorem?
Lol. You're actually quoting HSC topics.Real Analysis-> Complex Analysis -> Quantum Mechanics -> Age of Silicon -> Technologicall Revolution
I know. But without real analysis, there would be no existing structural foundations for complex analysis.Lol. You're actually quoting HSC topics.
Also complex analysis doesn't really come off from real analysis.
Calculus. The discovery of differentiation and integration
Well, that just tells us a lot about your mind.Im surprised no one made any penis jokes LOL
Well, I could've but the question was greatest, not biggest.Im surprised no one made any penis jokes LOL
