Why should the position of the discovery affect the quality of the story?
That's what I would think haha, but some teachers say that they should be able to tell that the story is about discovery right from the start :/

Doesn't mean the discovery itself has to be at the start.

I set the atmosphere for discovery at the start; not the actual discovery itself

i cbb posting in english because its a short question

Does the creative need to have the character have a happily ever after? If my character simply realises something that's a form of discovery right? Does it need to be resolved?

My teacher told me no when I asked a similar question, so, no.

Why is it always happily ever after?

That doesn't exist... life goes on, there's no magic wand (except for money) that can poof away all of your problems (and there are problems that money can't solve...).

Personally, I would end the story with a massive time leap to when the character is of old age...

What if the discovery is a massively provocative discovery?

But don't make it so bad that it highlights the doom and gloom of the actual marker staring at his/her pile of 100 or so papers lol

Guys if the creative writing stimulus has a statement in 1st person, can we change it to 3rd person in our cw?
