i'd say stick magi into the paragraph about desire for spirituality, and talk about how the their desire for spirituality can only be achieved once they have forgotten their old beliefs like a spiritual death/reset for the coming of jesus? and then that would be a good spot to put in context too
yea i put magi into the paragraph about desire for spirituality along with hollow men so my structure is like:
para 1: poem 1 & 2 hollow men, preludes (stagnation & mundanity)
para 2: poem 2 & 3 hollow men, magi (desire for spirituality)
para 3: poem 3 & 1 magi, preludes (fragmentation & decay of society)
this is the structure my school recommended... any1 else the same? 💀 💀

My teachers have just been saying what I said earlier about magi being a contrast. When Magi was written Elliot had converted to Anglicanism and while magi is still not a happy poem it has an element of hope, and follows the common poetic conventions a bit more. The magi also complete a journey but unlike earlier journeys by the flaneurs their journey has a purpose. So Magi is less saying humans have a desire for spirituality and more that spirituality is hard but is a counter to the stagnation and mundanity of modern life. Thats what my teachers been saying at least. Elliot is far happier when he wrote this poem

I just got this random email from some Harvard admissions guy Benito Nishizawa but I never even looked into going to a US uni. Has anyone else got this.

apparently you have to remove the UAC course 1st preference if you get early entry for the 1st preference according to my school, but im not sure :confused2:
it’s up to you, there’s nothing forcing you to do that but if you want an offer for something else then you might want to change it

did anyone do a paragraph on 'to autumn' and 'when i have fears' for mod a keats? If so, how'd you link it?
I can Dm you my Fears paragraph from trials, it probably still needs more work and i got like a 15/20 which is decent. To autumn is so annoying i didnt do that but if you had an extract of that its mostly about seasons ending and beauty of nature stuff, cos he wrote it just before he died. also hard to link to the film rlly only the scene with Toots so would recommend not doing that if u dont have to
