Best number of units to have for HSC

If you're confident with your subjects and are able to perform well under exam pressure I'd recommend doing 10 units - it lets you focus all your attention on those subjects and ultimately maximise your marks/ATAR. That's what worked for me anyway!

How are you guys studying for geography?

Here's what I did closer to my exam: - making very summarized notes and revising over them - making short essay scaffolds and getting them marked by my teacher - attempting past paper questions - attempting questions from the HSC Geography skills book (don't neglect skills) Good luck...

Including critics in your Hamlet essays?

The markers are looking for a personal response to the play. SO critic quotes aren't necessary to achieve full marks. HOWEVER, both my teacher and tutor recommended that we include 1-2 quotes from a well renowned critic e.g. Coleridge, TS Eliot, Hazlitt, Nietzsche etc. For instance, you could...

    Geography

Yeah the subject is quite content-heavy but just push through it. Make sure you work on your skills as well because that can be a big part of the multiple choice section. I'm also selling my geo resources (advice, papers, notes, essays etc.) so if you want you can check out my link below.

    Question about Essay Length

The 8 page rule is just a guideline. As long as it's around 1,000 words you'll be fine don't stress about how many pages you're writing. And as mentioned above it's important to realise that quality/answering the question is much more important than how much you're writing. Good luck!

Drop Agriculture, Modern History or Chemistry?

Unless if you're confident that you can pick up your rank for Agriculture to 1st or 2nd, I recommend you drop Agriculture. It seems like you don't like the subject as much and the relatively poor scaling of the subject/quality of your cohort may affect you if you're not ranked near the top of...

    Physics or Chemistry

I'd say Chemistry involves more rote-learning whereas Physics involves more applied questions and calculations

    Frankenstein/BladeRunner

You could talk about how the two texts explore similar concerns (e.g. man's desire to play God, moral ambiguities of humanity, conflict between science and nature etc.) in different ways, accentuating their distinctive contexts.
