A Few Extracts From My Extended Responses

Yeah I'm ranked 2nd. Which I guess is another reason I decided to try, but really at my school the only guy who I know was counting on religion is ranked 1st. Our teacher left at the start of last term due to her husband being critically ill so we had no teacher for the last 14 lessons or what...

A Few Extracts From My Extended Responses

your my hero lol. Yea I did basically nothing for this subject and didn't expect it to count and if the questions were really hard I was going to start making up some seriously bullshit probably similar to you, but the questions weren't to bad so I decided to take the exam seriously :)

    6-7 mark questions you'd like

Batteries came up in 01 as a 7 marker and in last years as a 5 marker so praying to the heavens for not another one this year. Reason they suck is because the anode and cathode equations are such a bitch to remember as well as to draw/explain the physical nature of the cell

    6-7 mark questions you'd like

Anything in forensics except that crap on the ethical issues in general with the forensic chemist and a case study of how changes in technology changed the outcome of a case, so borring. Umm in the core. AAS, Ethanol, Biopolymers, CFC's, Significance of Haber process, Mass water purification...

Increases in SO2 and NOx evidence dot point

Have most ppl just discussed this in the sense that evidently since the industrial revolution increases in power plants, motorised cars, smelting of ores etc has led to increases in these oxides in the atmosphere. This can be seen through the damage to the Black Forest in Germany due to acid...

what raw marks you need for band 5/6 (merged)

Re: what raw marks you need for band 5/6 yeah in biology preety much every question was impossible to mark on the lines (2 lines to outline beadle and tatums experiment, cmon). But you only have to look at the standard packages to realise they obviously keep marking beyond the lines.

    Reducing and non-reducing sugars.

Many sugars alternate between a closed ring and open chain form. In the open chain form sugars with a carbon double bonded to an oxygen are powerful oxidising agents and thus are able to reduce other chemicals in solution. In the closed chain form these sugars contain a hydroxide group joined to...

Tips for year 10/11/12 future & current biology students...

As people have basically said, the sheer size of the biology syllabus means unless your teacher gives you a lot of homework and does a lot of marking of self research reports etc you WON'T learn everything you need to and in enough detail in the class room. So go to your local library and snatch...

    Difficulty?

The 8 marker, the design an experiment and to a lesser extent a 4 marker on one ethical issue will seperate the understanders from the wrote learners.

did everyone just bs in that!!??

You people are getting VERY carried in thinking the whole 8 marker was about relating Koch's postulates to the method they carried out. Personally I did talk about his postulates but only as another key point in creating my answer you must must must look at the verbs it said ASSESS, therefore...

Re: Bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbboooooooooooorrrrrreeeeeeeeeddddd! !!!!!! Its called consistancy. In the next 2 1/2 days all the work I do MIGHT improve my chemistry mark by 2 - 5 marks but thats about all I'd expect. The reason most of us are soo bored is that we've done so much freakin work already...

    oxidation state

Basically you have to look at the charge of the anion the element its asking for the oxidation state is bonded with eg. I know this isn't accurate at all but if you had Cu03 . Oxygen has a charge of -2 and theirs three of them so that = - 6. So inorder for this compound to be electron happy the...

    Stopsign's Chemistry Marathon (2006)

cmon... atleast 4 ppl in this post have already asked/ been answered questions about ethanol. If just a slab of information you have to learn. And I think that other question is ship wrecks and corrosion, I did forensic chemistry :D much more interesting

did everyone just bs in that!!??

I'm actually suprised so many people remembered Koch's Postulates. It did make for a good point to argue in the 2nd half of the question, as you could say even though Marshal displayed the symptons, the bacertia should still have been isolated and showed to be the same as the he swallowed. And...

    Leave Early?

I still had like 1 hours 20 minutes when I got to the option so I just went ballistic in it. Wrote absoultly everything I know about hearing aids, chochlear implants, cataracts, hyopia, myopia. Drew diagrams and charts, Talked about the optic charisma and heaps of detail for just that little 2...
