Does anyone else regret buying second hand textbooks?

There's also the Textbook Exchange website or the Facebook group "Textbook Exchange". They're also selling second hand, current edition textbooks. You could try your luck out there. I've gotten my books from these two resources.

Need to find home stay or a single/shared room

Searched, but nothing's really what I'm looking for. Sent a couple of questions to a few people though. Hope I'll get a reply soon. Oh wow, you went through all of that? Man... that sucks. At least now I know what to look/ask for when I come inspect a place. One of my friend's homestay...

Does anyone else regret buying second hand textbooks?

Gonna have to agree with Shadowdude here. I bought second hand current edition textbooks, so I'm finding them really useful right now. You probably bought the wrong editions. Even if you did buy the wrong editions, if they're just one edition apart, most of the time the content should be fairly...

Need to find home stay or a single/shared room

Okay, long situation short: I need to find a place to live after August 17 and I don't know where to look. I'd prefer to live somewhere in Randwick, Kensington, or Kingsford. My budget is up to AUD$250/week, including all general utility bills, hopefully including unlimited Internet. I'd also...

    general UNSW chit-chat

Rofl, why a monorail? Wouldn't it make sense to just change the stairs into escalators? Wouldn't that be cheaper, easier, and faster to install? I don't get the monorail idea.

Finding a new place to stay...

Oh hell, that's terrible. My condolences to you. ;( The next time that you rent from someone, don't give them the bond money until you absolutely know that they sent the bond money off to the tribunal. Get them to sign the form in front of your eyes, and then tell them to put the form into an...

2012 Semester 2 UNSW Chatter Thread

What. Sorry, just had to add my two cents in. 8'D (Really, all the Math lingo hurts. Glad I'll never have to do that...) Extremely boring. The content is interesting enough (despite the fact that I learned this in high school), but the lecturer - oh god, the lecturer. Monotonous voice...

I actually fell asleep in the FINS1613 lecture. Had the British guy, I think. I never thought I would prefer any Economics class over a Finance class...

Looking at the long term changes is my specialty. ;D And you're definitely right about that. There's a lack of good, dedicated teachers. But schools have limited funds - most of them will settle on "regular" teachers, because they're the ones that usually don't mind getting paid less.

2012 Semester 2 UNSW Chatter Thread

There is a bit of a counter balance, but I believe that this counter balance will only last for a "short" amount of time. Birth rates around the world will eventually go down as countries' economies (and education levels) begin to improve. Lower birth rates will result in the shutting down of...

2012 Semester 2 UNSW Chatter Thread

Teaching jobs are kind of going down the drain too. More and more schools are cutting down on the number of teachers to save money. They're getting teachers with no teaching qualifications for a specific subject to teach that subject, in addition to the subject that they actually have...

With how this economy's going, we're all going to end up working at McDonalds, KFC, or somewhere similar. 8'D (Or, well, most of us. Ah, depressing reality...)

Pfft, no, you're still allowed to be confused, even if you are a Maths major. That's the point of university! You're confused about this and that, you go to university, you spend years learning the answer to your confusion, and then you graduate, confusion dissolved. Or something like that...

Indo? As in, Indonesian? Technically, I'm half. x'D And ahh, I see. That kinda sucks, but I do understand. ;( Eh, so far, I don't know what type of part time job I want. Something that'll pay for the groceries and travel expenses is good enough. Nothing like working in a bar as a waitress...

If I end up doing well in FINS1613, I could help you out. :) Ahh, I see. (Lol.) Then I'll make sure to keep an eye out for the homeless Asian in PJs. (I think there will be many of 'em though...) Chocolate and cream macaroon! *drools* Today I went to a few O-Week workshops as well. Went to...

If you regret it, why not change it back? :o And I'll probably be working a part time job while doing summer school during the holiday. (The summer holiday, right?) It's part of my plan to graduate a semester early. Saves money, time, and all that good stuff. Check your private messages...

Sorry, but I have to ask: Aren't we all going to look homeless, Asian, and in our PJs? (Since all of us are poor, poor, poor...) And... MACAROON COOKIES! I'm considering it just for those cookies. Went to the first day of O-Week today, ate a chocolate chip cookie, loved it. I love cookies...

You switched from Commerce to Psychology? :o And I am rather keen for the next semester, seeing as it's my first! Looking forward to making new friends, learning (hopefully) interesting stuff, etc. As for my parents - no, they're not too strict. They just worry for me. But they're a heck lot...
