RUN in between classes on opp sides of campus?!

yeah, sometimes you just have to sneak in as unobtrusively as possible if the lecturer/tutor is nasty about late-comers. I used to hate having everone stare at me as I walked in late but you get used to it.

    Ecop1001

ECOP 1001 is a really good subject. I didn't continue studying political economy but Frank as a lecturer was brilliant (just ask Stas  ). If you're doing this as a fill-in unit, it's really good because it's pretty easy. The lectures are comprehensive and easy to take notes on...

    ECON1101 Prescribed Textbook

im from usyd but we used mctaggart in 05 im not sure about the updated 4th edition but i wouldn't recommend buying the fat combination of macro/micro cos u only do one each sem and i've seen more than one of my friends complain about lugging that huge thing around. If u don't mind then i...

Has anyone received email confirmation of enrolment yet?

it says that confirmations are sent out in batches every 24 hrs during the paying period. I paid via the internet and got the confirmation in the mail within a day...which was a shocker to me  maybe you should contact the SIO, Lainee.

For how long is the UAI valid for?

i remember reading in the uac book aaaaaages ago that it is valid for 10 years. Im not sure cos this is just some vague info drifting back to my mind once i read this thread. The 10 yrs might not even be related to UAI validity periods lol It shoudl be in the front of the UAC book though.

    economics magazine?

hmm what demandred says is true in a way but i seroiusly doubt whether you really need to be spending time reading up extensively on world economic issues. It would be good but i wouldnt have had the time in the HSC.

    New Layout

Re: attn ujuphleg i think it's obvious that we can get used to it  but it's irritating. Was there any particular reason why it was changed? It seemed fine before and the faculty sub catagories were fine. Please change it back!

    Semester I Timetable (2006)

You do get an automatically allocated timetable, radhika87. People are just using the central timetable unit (that lists options for tutes/labs/lecs/workshops etc) to compile their own timetable. Once you get the automatically allocated timetable, you can either change it online or in person...

    economics magazine?

yeah i've seen those but i like the thick published books he used to do with all the cute cartoons lol

    economics magazine?

not really. He doesnt write to cater for HSC kids obviously but I thought that 80% of the things he talks about are fairly relevant to the course. Sometimes, he goes for the social economics angle which isn't present in the HSC course at all but still good to read as an economics student...

    economics magazine?

i wouldnt read the economist for the high school economics. Reading the SMH is enough because the most relevant economics-related articles are in the main news section anyway. The business page is all about takeovers, shares and boring rumours of acquisitions. Actually, just read Gittins...

    Eco & Bus camp?

im having trouble telling whether the question was serious or not but for anyone who wants to know, you can join comsoc at o-week. It will have a stand. You pay the fee, get your card and bag and that's it.

    Best Economics Textbook

Im a no frills kind of girl and I loved the Riley book. I don't like the Dixon book (though it is pretty) at all with it's useless add ons and trimmings. Having said that, I coupled the Riley with the Model answers published by Leading Edge.
