    Why do you read?

I read as a form of escapism; it is a way to erect a barrier against whatever is happening for a while and immerse myself in something else. Reading a book, for me, is a far better way of doing this than say watching a movie because I am engaging in my own personal way with the reality...

    Help...problem with a teacher.

Have you thought about doing those modules(and nothing else - rest of it would be day) with the night class? I know when I was at TAFE they were really flexible and would let me change at will.

Hmm, to be honest if I were to do Communications(or allied fields), I'd stay away from Notre Dame. If only because there isn't a very large range of units, few places and its completely fee pay. It also seems to have just started out so I have no idea how well the units would be taught. That...

! Make it a BA (Communications - Writing and Cultures) Go on. DO IT! Follow in my footsteps. It'd be hawt. On a more SERIOUS note, sounds good. Though you should keep in mind that communication/media/journo type degrees are usually very structured - students usually want to pull their...

Um, they won't kick you out of uni erin...you just won't get the cp for the subjects. You'll also have a lousy gpa and fails on your transcript, but like I said, they won't kick you out.

B Design (VISUAL COMMUNICATION) [uai cutoffs/questions/help]

With transfers, you basically use a mix of your uni grades and UAI to apply to a course(also a personal statement with uts transfers). If the courses were in similar areas you can recieve a certain amount of credit which would let you finish your new degree sooner. And you're quite right about...

B Design (VISUAL COMMUNICATION) [uai cutoffs/questions/help]

For alternative courses, the only really decent places I can think of would probably be Billy Blue [BA in Visual Communications]or COFA[BVisual Design]. They're all great venues so all three institutions are worth looking into. Otherwise you could take a Diploma from INSEARCH or TAFE and...

    Social Inquiry

Well from what I have seen, the politics is a large part of the course - not much way you can avoid it. Though you can gear it towards areas more related to sociology, if thats of any comfort to you. http://www.handbook.uts.edu.au/hss/ug/c10100.html <--That link basically lists all the subjects...

    CF: Limitations

I think, when you label something as only a single genre or subgenre, you by neccesity limit it. That is the nature of genre, regardless of which one you study. However when texts escape this discrete modality, when they hybridise by adding aspects of other genres and ways of thinking, then a...

    TSBTS: Simon

I'd actually disagree with this line of thinking - P.D James sets Simon up with motive and opportunity just as she does with most of her main cast. Rather I think Simon's characterisation relates to crime fiction in that it helps in portraying the upper class atmosphere that goes hand in hand...

    Gay marriage in NSW/Australia

Nagging ie the ACT basically is getting people or offices with the authority it doesn't have, to act for them. Except they don't have the authority or right to compell those people/offices to act. And so they must ask, wheedle, whinge, negotiate, whatever. As for the courts, my bad, I meant...

    Gay marriage in NSW/Australia

The Howard government hasn't legislated, at least thats what it says in the provided article: Judging by that, I think the ACTs current tactic against this, is pretty much to nag someone with more clout to help them. Though I imagine in other more severe situations they could take the...
