I would go with 5-3-2, first 5 in the first hour, 6, 7 and 8 in the next and 9 and 10 in the third. You are on the right track, just try and get as much of question 5 done as you can in the first hour, that should help :uhhuh:

You wouldn't be eligible for a UAI and/or HSC (not too sure about this one), let alone a distinction course :p To do a distinction course, you must do it on top of your 10 HSC units, so you must be doing at least 10 units for your HSC to be eligible for a distinction course.

I think he's referring to median scaling for his subjects and all that, but he's putting too much weight into them, he should be focusing on doing well in his subjects, so that he won't fail his HSC.
