What does a Band 3 in english Advanced mean?

Basically. I mean, it depends on what you're aiming for and where you're at with your other subjects, but it won't be so pretty if you get that low

    Internal rank and State rank?

My understanding is state rank is based on exam mark as much as internal mark; I mean, why wouldn't it be?

    Career choices x_x

He is, he enjoys stirring people from what I've seen. Arts sounds like a good idea though if you're not sure, alota options, though as for a career from an arts degree that might be more difficult to work out

macroeconomic policy, how does it work?

Well it's examine, so basically using economic terminology explain each policy form available, e.g.: -taxation -monetary policy - interest rates -Government spending initiatives through budget, e.g. infrastructure works etc., there are probably others but right now I can't think of them

macroeconomic policy, how does it work?

    1) A high level of inflation will discourage investors to invest in a currency, many will sell out and the currency hence will depreciate. The currency, irrelevant of investor sentiment, however, will depreciate anyway where there is high inflation, as more and more australian dollars will be...

macroeconomic policy, how does it work?

Microeconomic reform (MER) takes much, much longer than macroeconomic. MER often takes years to have the full intended effect, whereas macro is generally a matter of months

What two prescribed texts are you using for Crime Fiction?

Anil's Ghost Rear Window Skull Beneath No-one seems interested in Anil's, it's the hardest imo but also probably the best to do for that reason

Why are sciences and mathematics scaled so well?

The scaling system'd probably also be in place to motivate people to do more difficult subjects which scale better. If scaling was removed, everyone'd just do general maths and other easy subjects, not try, Australia would have a less educated workforce = bad for economy = bad for everything...

Why are sciences and mathematics scaled so well?

Inadequate it might be, but the scaling system is less discriminatory than your proposal to only do a narrow range of core subjects
  16. A

Why are sciences and mathematics scaled so well?

a fairer playing field for the more able half, but for the other half who just can't function in those subjects it'd make it hell. School retention rates would plummet with such a system

Why are sciences and mathematics scaled so well?

That's not a fair statement, not everyone is as capable as you are. Some people do it because yes, it's very easy for them, but others genuinely don't have the ability to do 2u

Why are sciences and mathematics scaled so well?

You've seen how much people hate english, this'd be a stupid idea. I agree in part but then again if people think they'll be taken down by scaling then they'll just have to pick subjects they're good at over subjects they enjoy. The HSC, sadly, is a game after all
  19. A

Why are sciences and mathematics scaled so well?

It's difficult to tell what you actually believe in...Do you have a proposal as to what replaces the scaling system? The idea of it is that if a student does chem and gets 90, they'd probably be able to do a humanity like a history and get say 93+. English is compulsory primary because it's...

    What to do..

We need to know your advanced ranks, but if you're reasonably good in advanced, i.e. mid ranks, I'd probably say advanced > standard. Use SAM if you wanna see the hsc marks you need for the ATAR you want
