BOS meet This Wed 12pm-2pm Manning Bar

No, you didn't miss a drunk me. Just a somewhat more hyperactive than usual me. My wallet was also stolen, and several cards were thrown out the window. Edit: Not my cards, Rafy's. I'm not even going to try reasoning with you. Nothing I say will convince you otherwise. Edit: Nothing I say...

BOS meet This Wed 12pm-2pm Manning Bar

I wasn't drunk, I had only half a glass. I then tried to reason with everyone that I had to go to a lecture afterwards, and I'd rather not be turning up tipsy. But yeah, the meet was pretty awesome.

    Failed HSC = Instant Death??

Fighting for the freedom from a common bond To be a barracuda in the guppy pond So little time for so many things to try on And we're leaving all the road for dead We're getting tired of the twists and turns You gotta go when human nature calls We're driving, we're driving Through the valley of...

    Failed HSC = Instant Death??

It's been said over and over again: The HSC is by no means a representation of who you are and what you are capable of As long as you've done your best - meaning you put all you had into it, no one can tell you that you've failed. If anyone tries to tell you otherwise, you have the right to...

    Semester 2 Chatter Thread (2009)

Liz, wai so hostile all of a sudden? D: Maybe not so much USyd itself as much as the general area around it (Broadway/Ultimo/Central). And yes, I mentioned the statstics post on Facebook.

i'm in yr 12 and i still suck at writting and balancing equations help!

    So that'd make it: Cu (s) + 4HNO_{3}(l) \to Cu(NO_{3})_{2}(aq) + 2NO_{2}(g) + 2H_{2}O(l) Awesome, nice work.

    Cu (s) + HNO_{3}(l) \to Cu(NO_{3})_{2}(aq) + NO_{2}(g) + H_{2}O(l) Still trying to balance the equation, but yeah, it's an example of a metal/acid reaction.

Yeah, writing it that way makes it easier to read. It usually doesn't matter which way you write it, but most teachers will tell you to multiply the equation to get rid of the fractions.

Yeah okay. You're not going to be able to say that to me next year seeing as I'll be a part time USyder by then.

    Semester 2 Chatter Thread (2009)

Given that USyd/the city is a sort of common ground for us all (even myself and wixxy), and that the area isn't really that big when you think about it, the chances wouldn't have been that low. It's all to do with the Law of Large Numbers and a few other factors in probability. See? I did learn...

Yeah, I still practice a lot for chemistry too. Doing it all over again in uni makes me realise how easy HSC chemistry was >_> Edit: fixed equation. I knew something was wrong, but wasn't sure what o_O Thanks for pointing it out.

    Semester 2 Chatter Thread (2009)

I'm doing okay I suppose. Thanks for the rep, yo. I'm slowly making my comeback to BOS by posting in this thread and helping out the kids in the HSC forums (they look like they need all the help they can get)

    Semester 2 Chatter Thread (2009)

I was surprised to find out that you two hadn't met :/ I assumed that everyone had already met each other from last semester's meets. Either way, I wonder what the chances of all of us seeing each other at that one place and time were. Tis a small, small world that we live in.

Like everyone else has said, practice is the best you can do. The way my chemistry lecturer teaches it: Write down the reactants (in this case, ethane and oxygen) and the products (water and carbon dioxide): C_{2}H_{6} and O_{2} react to form H_{2}O and CO_{2} Put them into an equation...

    Semester 2 Chatter Thread (2009)

I had to read that line several times to make sense of it... It'd do better as "To let all those who have been willing to attend know" :/ learn2English, you. I'm a science student, you're an arts student. In theory, you should know more than me about this kind of stuff since you'd write more...
