Can confirm that zhertec's answer is correct.

Writing it out would be a massive waste of time. Read it out loud multiple times and then test yourself by looking away. Not only will you retain more information as opposed to writing, but you will also do it in a shorter amount of time.

During my HSC, I preferred typing and printing out my notes as it was time efficient and organised. But it ultimately depends on the individual and what they are comfortable with.
