    Easy Question 10 or Easiest?

I was doing just fine until I got to question 10b. That really caught me off guard...

Good luck tomorrow guys! (including some last tips)

Thanks Namu! Good luck to everyone. I may not fail, but I may not come out with epic results, either.

WHat do you plan to do between the period November 13th till March.

I need to work. I'm pretty much broke. But I also have a list of movies, books and video games to get to after HSC.

What was the hardest HSC paper?

CSSA 2008 was... interesting... It wasn't too bad, but it certainly wasn't the easiest of papers.

What was the hardest HSC paper?

I think HSC 2003 can be summed up like that. Same can apply to 2005.

What was the hardest HSC paper?

Everything was okay until question 10b. It was like running into a brick wall. But I figured it out eventually.

What was the hardest HSC paper?

Something like the 2003 paper then?

What was the hardest HSC paper?

2005, question 8b onwards. 2003 was okay at the start, but suddenly got worse at question 10.

    Question Chain Thread !!!

I'm going to make an attempt to bring this thread back to life (and its probably going to be an epic failure) From the 2005 HSC: Analyse how knowledge of the composition and properties of acids has led to changes in the definition of acids. (5 marks) Go for it!!

    Why is education a competition?

Just because someone scores a low UAI, doesn't mean they don't have what it takes to succeed in life. But it doesn't mean that they do, either. It can go both ways.

    Eugenics/Intellectual Discrimination

I'm still not sure.... Eugenics and intellectual discrimination sound great in theory, but its just not... right, if thats how one can put it. Sure, it would be great if we could get all the 'dumb' people out of the way, but who are we to decide who is better than the other? And then we'd...

    Eugenics/Intellectual Discrimination

You have a very good point there. I was thinking of progress in terms of the development and improvement of new technologies, but forgot about social progression as well. So I'm guessing that we'd need to make a balance between social and scientific/technological progress here.

    Eugenics/Intellectual Discrimination

The main aim of the legal system is to make a balance between the interests of society, and the interests of the individual, and also between what is practical, and what is ethical. These are the kinds of debates you find in the fields philosophy, law and ethics. Maybe someone in those fields...

    Eugenics/Intellectual Discrimination

We discussed it in terms of today's society. My legal studies teacher supports things like euthanasia (both voluntary and involuntary), and the death penalty because they are 'resource effective'. To be honest, I don't know where I stand on these issues. Sometimes, the most practical choice is...

    Eugenics/Intellectual Discrimination

I second that. We had a discussion about this in legal studies, and while I'd love to get rid of those who are stupid beyond comprehension, its just plain unethical.

General Maths - Superannuation Question? Help?...

First, you should post this in the General Maths forum, not here. And to answer your question.. Upon resignation, the superannuation benefit is calculated by adding the employee's contributions to 5% of the employers contributions for each year of service. So it looks like they add $5200 + 5%...

Should the Hadron Collider be allowed?

Discussion has already happened: http://community.boredofstudies.org/showthread.php?t=182680 And yes, it did involve several misinformed members (and I'll admit that I did make a complete idiot of myself in the first few pages), skeptics and well... it did end rather badly. But we did manage to...

Should the Hadron Collider be allowed?

I'm sorry, but just how is mentioning scientific consensus idiocy?!
