    Subject selection for Year 12

The teachers are clearly biased. And for the record, physics DOES NOT scale the same as SOR. It, in fact, scales higher (but very marginally). Now don't think I'm trying to convince you to do physics because of scaling... no no no. Scaling is a shit reason for doing something. The others...

    Post your handwriting 09ers

Eh I read up on it a few times. The slant determines introversion/extroversion. To the right means more outgoing. To the left indicates shyness. But those are extremes, but if it's something that looks like this: then you're somewhere in between the two. How high you cross your t "determines"...

    Subject selection for Year 12

Consider this: Do you want to do the "good" subject (physics) for bad reasons? Or do you want to do the "bad" subject (SOR) for good reasons? If you feel "bad" for choosing what you like better, then be selfish, choose the "bad" subject. From your post, you've lost all faith in yourself when...

Any tutoring centres offer trial tests?

The difference is the tutor pays you more attention, you get taught things in different ways, and the people there generally want to be there, unless you're at some atrociously high performance school. Trial tests? Needs clarification.

Re: what was your hardest prelim exam ? Physics by a mile. Needless to say, I got 64% ... that's 2% above average Everything else was a breeze for me, except English - didn't get enough time.

    easiest asian language?

Cantonese is easier to learn than Mandarin (but, only because being Asian, I'm used to getting the right inflections for Cantonese. I've heard non-Asian friends say learning to speak Mandarin is easier). Mandarin is more highly sought after I'd say, it's more commonly spoken in China. Eh...

    Zhang Yimou's art

No no no no no, splitting the paragraphs does not necessarily mean that you have to begin a new theme/argument/issue. It just means that it's easier to read, and you can differentiate between the elaboration and the point you're making. In reference to the "another characteristic...", you from...

    Zhang Yimou's art

No, the essay isn't too long. 1) Shorten your paragraph lengths (the second one is 313 words). And while I know they're "related", you can afford to let them have a paragraph of their own. eg in the 4th paragraph, this can have a paragraph of its own. "Another characteristic feature of...

How would you define "sufficient detail"?

I'll put it this way, generally, when people say something to you twice, you're bound to remember it. Telling them 5 times just gets annoying right?

How would you define "sufficient detail"?

... that does not make sense whatsoever. I could critique it if you want, but maybe I don't know you well enough to know what on earth you're trying to say.

    Belonging Notes

meh np. Maybe you could try varying your first sentences and the 2 sentences after it . It doesn't "flow" nicely, a little broken. Gahh idk how to put it. Hang on, you do music don't you? It's like playing staccato instead of legato, eh that makes sense to me.

    Belonging Notes

As in how it can be improved (coz you wrote it), or what the actual writing told me? If it's the former, I can't see much wrong with it. Latter, then I suppose I agree..?

    creative writing question

fuck no. that ruins the whole story. The humour invalidates every single serious point you were trying to make with your story. Creative (in a twisted way). "But it's meant to be creative writing! That's the whole point of the "creative" you stupid idiot!" Yeah, whatever, but if that "creative"...

    creative writing question

No, it's more "sophisticated" if it's non linear, but it's not necessarily a bad idea to write in a linear structure. Provided you write concisely and nicely, I don't see what's so bad about a linear structure. About the character "walking to school" if it's not directly or somehow connected...
