    Aganist abortion

I'm pro-choice, not anti-life, as they say. I do feel that the fetus's potential life should be taken into consideration to some degree. That said, I feel that a woman whose life is already firmly established, who has however many years of life experience, etc. etc. should be given precedence...

Missionaries of Hate - a documentary on Uganda's anti-gay movement

The issue in this post isn't whether HIV/AIDS is higher in gay community, it's the fact that Uganda may introduce a bill which would have disastrous consequences not only for its LGBT community, but for the community as a whole. Some of the measures imposed would include: • Any person alleged...

    The vegetarian/vegan thread.

I have recently decided to try vegetarianism. Going ok so far, but not sure how long I'll last. I'd like to be able to keep it up. I'm not opposed to eating meat, per se. I'm more against: - the fact that many animals suffer before they are killed - a huge amount of land is cleared for...

    Things that annoy you.

    - Bad punctuation/spelling. No idea why, I just get really irritated. - Little kids trying to act really hardcore. Or older people trying to be really cutsie. ACT YOUR AGE!!! - Show-offs. - Bible-bashers/religious fundamentalists. - Rabid atheists. - Bigots.

Do you think the Pope should have a say on homosexuality when he is celibate?

Exactly. I neither agree nor disagree with Blastus, I was simply wondering what was behind his views.

    Climate change-Does it exist

I believe it exists, but twenty years ago people didn't even know about climate change, in twenty years time the population of our world might think us insane for thinking it exists and for thinking we worsened it.

Greens launch Senate inquiry against endless population growth, Liberals back it

I just find it amusing that the Libs and the Greens are working together. That always gets me.

What should define a successful minor party?

Interesting question. I think it would have to be a combination of both, as katie tully said, you can be in parliament for a long time, without actually achieving anything. So, they should have enough popular support to give them negotiating power, and a willingness to negotiate and work with...

Issues of the LGBT community in Australia...

That's true. Groups of people who don't quite fit the norm end up largely ignored unless they draw attention to themselves.

Issues of the LGBT community in Australia...

Yeah, I find that scenario really interesting. It has the potential to completely change how we view gender.

    Fuck Rudd is a dickhead

I'd still rather Rudd than Abbott.

No prob. :) I'd rep you again, if I could, for this post: 'Although I do admit that Rudd > Abbott. Abbott is just wayyy too ridiculous.'

Tony Abbott breaks election promise BEFORE election

Agreed with you on this. Even though I feel that both are far too conservative to really get anything important done, Rudd is definitely, for me, the lesser of two evils. Abbott's views belong in the 50's.
