    Do internals scale?

According to what I've learnt scaling only applies to your atar by UAC (based on the diffuculty of your subjects), for singular subjects it's only aligned and moderated, I think.....

    Band 6 Still Achievable? (Chemistry)

Wait dw I read it properly it's overall HSC mark dependent (state rank that is), btw anyone have a general idea of how much chemistry scales in terms of raw marks to externals?

    Band 6 Still Achievable? (Chemistry)

What mark should I aim for in my externals to ensure a mid band 6?

    Band 6 Still Achievable? (Chemistry)

According to some thread I read previously on BOS, someone said something along the lines of "State rank is determined by externals unless you tie with another student in the state, in which the internals will then be considered", don't quote me on that though lol

    Band 6 Still Achievable? (Chemistry)

Oh sorry lol forgot to mention that the numbers after semester are ranks and the ones below are internal assessment marks :L

    Band 6 Still Achievable? (Chemistry)

I was wondering if a band 6 for chemistry would still be achievable with these marks/ranks: Rank: Semester 1: 52/106 Average Mark: 83 Rank: Semester 2: (haven't received the ranks but just an estimate of future rank) 60-70 dunno hard to estimate, if I'm lucky maybe it will increase...

    Titration calculation Help??

For this question you need to work backwards I believe, so first you use the titration formula to deduce the concentration of diluted Ammonia. So C(Acid) x V(acid) = C(base) x V(base) Since the neutralisation reaction between HCl and Ammonia is 1:1 the ratios dont really change. So: HCl(aq) +...

Is it possible to obtain an estimate HSC mark of singular subject?

Sorry for relighting a semi-dead thread, but I was just wondering if that's how the internal ranking works, can't schools just make easier assessments so the entire cohort marks are increased, and then like have side tests which are hard but are not weighted...? So like in the end, the entire...

Is it possible to obtain an estimate HSC mark of singular subject?

Top 10 just to get 95 moderated/scaled etc? :O and I've read like most of the questions about how internal ranking affects your overall mark but I still dont get it...like lets just say someone is 10 ranks higher and I potentially get a higher raw mark for the actual external HSC, will I still...

Yr 11: Can anybody help me with this question?

The changes in mass was due to the reaction between an Acid (HCl) and a carbonate (CaCO3). When an acid and carbonate reacts, it produces Carbon dioxide gas which escapes from the solution resulting in the loss of products produced, hence mass. Is that more or less correct....? lol sorry if I...

Yr 11: Can anybody help me with this question?

    A. The gas released is due to the reaction between the HCl and CaCO3, resulting in a neutralisation reaction between the acid and carbonate, the gas released being CO2. B. So when an acid reacts with a carbonate the reaction is: 2HCl (aq) + CaCO3 (s) --> CaCl2 (aq) + CO2 (g) + H2O (l) C...

Is it possible to obtain an estimate HSC mark of singular subject?

Thanks guys :) Just wondering, if I were to aim for 95, what ranking would I have to obtain to get around that?

Is it possible to obtain an estimate HSC mark of singular subject?

School was ranked 18th last year I think and consistent top 20.

Is it possible to obtain an estimate HSC mark of singular subject?

In that case, can I possibly get an estimate for these marks/ranks, thanks :) Rank: 52/106 Course mark: 83/100 If anything else is needed to calculate the estimate, feel free to ask.

What happens in Year 12 Chem Prac Exams?

Whoa 4 pracs in the 45 minutes, crazy...we only had 2 practicals in the span of 1 hour and we could barely finish that.

Is it possible to obtain an estimate HSC mark of singular subject?

Was just wondering if it were possible to obtain like an estimate of moderated, scaled etc marks for a single subject, in this case chemistry, by my internal chemistry rank and marks (including weightings) of each assessment? So basically an estimate of what mark BOS will give me for this...

Tips for studying a Practical Test?

Currently about to end Acidic environment I think (Esterification), and the test is in a couple of weeks so I think it would be possible for chemical monitoring and management pracs to appear, but yea probably the most important thing is to not panic >.< (prelim times *shivers*). Oh and are...

Tips for studying a Practical Test?

I Currently have a HSC Chemistry Practical assessment coming up, so I was just wondering if anyone had any tips that helped them through this daunting exam (imo hardest Chem exam). Like what should I focus on, besides obviously learning all practicals, but other stuff? Like trends in terms of...

    Question about state ranking.

I'm currently at around the end of my prelim years of Chemistry and I was wondering if it were possible to achieve a state ranking if you weren't rank top 10 in your cohort. So like hypothetically you did not too well on one of the tests and got around rank 15 at the end of the year, would it...
