How much of prelim chemistry and physics is tested in the hsc? Which specific prelim topics/concepts are needed to understand the content in year 12?

It's the same as Chem in Maths and Physics and Biology - prelim material is examinable so long as the overall context is year 12 content... which is consistent with the idea of assumed knowledge, too. I can't comment on Economics, sorry.

How much of prelim chemistry and physics is tested in the hsc? Which specific prelim topics/concepts are needed to understand the content in year 12?

Year 11 content can be covered in year 12 exams so long as the overall question is based in a year 12 module. For chemistry, module 4 (energy) questions can be asked as (say) delta H calculations for an acid/base reaction (module 6) or entropy and delta G in a dissolution system (module 5) or...

    Applying the factor theorem for the root at x=-2: \begin{align*} p(-2) &= a(-2)^3 + 16(-2)^2 + c(-2) - 120 \\ 0 &= -8a - 2c - 56 \\ 4a + c &= -28 \end{align*} Applying the factor theorem for the root at x=3: \begin{align*} p(3) &= a(3)^3 + 16(3)^2 + c(3) - 120 \\ 0 &= 27a + 3c + 24 \\ 9a + c...

    Modifying arbitrary constant for differentials

If you do make the change from the constant being C to it being A, I think the important point is that C can be any real number but A is restricted to being a non-zero real.

    CSSA trial (advanced/ extension maths)

This comment is very similar to what I hear the teacher who led the writing team has been saying to his class - and that he feels sorry for students who have teachers complaining that the exam was too difficult...

    CSSA trial (advanced/ extension maths)

May I ask why you put expenses as 200 + 20n in Q23? Doesn't that make the expenses in the first week 220? The question says that they start at 200 and then increase by 20 per week.

    Primary amines

I've been taught that amides have higher BP than carboxylic acids of similar molar mass. This is certainly true in the example in the Caringbah 2023 Chemistry Trial that was recently uploaded, question 34, which gives the following data: Propanoic acid, CH3CH2COOH, has molar mass 74.08 g mol-1...

    Primary amines

As the diagram in SadCeliac's post (reproduced below) shows, for an H-bond you need both the hydrogen bond donor (the H atom bound to the very electronegative N, O, or F atom) and the hydrogen bond acceptor (the lone pair on the second very electronegative atom). So, a primary amine like...
