Any help would be greatly appreciated (i cant find anything in the textbooks!) In respect of each of the following, explain what advantages equity...

    Urgent Help: Institutionalised Inequality

so basically formal equality is treating everyone exactly the same, reguardless, and institutionalised inequality is the result of this?? its what occurs when the legal system attempts to treat everyone the same, but in fact people are different thus it results in unequal treatment? i hope i...

    The, "Who hasn't studied" Thread

Firstly, you are so lucky it is your last exam, i have two more!! Legal and IPT, boooooooooo. But anyhoo, the thing that gets on my nerves (because i have studied and am only on here during my break) is when people don't study but still manage to ace a test. Although if you havent even...

How many related texts for crime fiction?

i think you would be able to do that, but i wouldnt rely on it as a main part of your essay, because you wont be able to support yourself very well if u dont have a particular text ie to get quotes from. but if you just want to chuck him in and how his character is one of the most influential...

Mathematics - General thoughts on the exam

I had no idea what the hell Q10 was on about. I wrote a few pages for it, but i didnt even answer the question lol. And what was up with the question that asked for the focus of that 12y=x^2 - 6x + 3 or whatever the number was .. how the heck do u get a focus when u cant make it (x-h)^2=4a(y-k)...

    Imaginative Journey Question

I said that Some are about the process of speculation, but not all; some of my texts include an imaginative journey about what hasn't happened yet ie Journeys Over Sea and Land, whilst others were about things that have happened ie Frost at Midnight. Therefore if i was to use all my preparation...

    creative writing section

My preprepared answer is exactly one page typed. I have used it for 2 exams, and i received a 13 and a 14 for it; keeping in mind that when i wrote it in the exam, it wasn't word for word with what i had prepared. So if you feel what you have written successfully conveys the message you are...

    Creative writing

All of them sound alright, all you have to keep in mind is not to make it melodramtic. Markers hate melodrama, and they absolutely adore small storylines .. once we were given a piece of text as stimulus .. this person was in the attic and he found a postcard from africa.. people were sending...

    COLLERIDGE 1 or 2 Poems????

It also depends on what your Coleridge picks are .. if your one is the Ancient Mariner one, then you could easily know say Frost at Midnight and Lime Tree Bower in the same depth, as they are shorter.

    COLLERIDGE 1 or 2 Poems????

Kezalicious: "didn't spell Colerigde properly? lol" I believe you didn't spell his name properly either ... lol Well when we started the course our teacher told us 2 Coleridge poems, then for our during year exams i had only included one and i got marks around 13 or 14/15 ... then she told us...

    help!(with crime fiction)

I know what you mean, and that's a tough one. Esp for me, as i am only studying in depth The Real Inspector Hound and The Big Sleep as set texts. So if they sprung a question relating to the Skull Beneath The Skin i would be a little stuffed, cos it is not one of the set texts i chose to study...

    Subgenres of crime fiction

Ah yes, that is true .. our teacher is continually telling us to "go out on a limb" and try to be different. That's cool, do you think tafe gave you a different education than you would have gotten through high school ?

Ambiguity regarding Conventions of Crime Fiction

Yes, i do the same as Indhu. We have been told to use the second set, as it generally applies more "universally" to texts.

    essay structure

You guys have your hsc tomorow ? My exam isn't until the 3rd of November or something. From experience, i find it much easier to write text by text. My reason for this is that i have my own individual ideas about each text, and what each text is doing ie a minithesis for each. Therefore, i start...

How many related texts for crime fiction?

I agree. I am doing two prescribed (because i am not overly fond of one of my prescribed texts, The Skull Beneath the Skin) and two related. It really does depend on your own characterisitics, the amount of information you are able to retain and the length of your essays. But if you are like the...

    Subgenres of crime fiction

i agree "modes of thought which can be utilised in discourse " and i also think this subject is very "touchy feely" and can be viewed from many different perspectives .. i have to be careful what i write incase i entirely confuse myself. thank you for ur post in the other thread kami .. and did...
