Official UAI Thread: Post your UAI's here

96.40 - .5 less than SAM predicted (2003) but it went with the pattern...and that's 1.4 higher than I was aiming for so I'm fucking happy!!!!!! Well done everyone!

    Comedy in MW's?

I think if you go with humour at least make it satirical in some way. If I could do it over again, I'd do something satirical and easily relate it to 'telling the truth.'

    The Minoans

^^^^^ Did the Minoan religion essay...had done one in the trial that I also got full marks for, and this had all the same stuff in it, so unless my teacher's a really easy marker I'm hoping for a pretty high mark.

How do you think you went?

I think I got over 20/25 in each section and in a couple I'm pretty confident of close to, if not full marks. Hoping for 90+ ... I think I'll need it.

    BOS Showcase: 2004 Major Works

Serpentia, the alliteration is great, if it comes naturally even better...it really gives some of the poetry a bit of a hypnotic type effect - it draws you in. Glycerine, everyone's already said how well written your work is, and how clear and precise it is...and they're right, I agree, it's...

    BOS Showcase: 2004 Major Works

Oh get off my case. Surely the winking smilie face made the tongue in cheek nature of my post obvious. And if not, the highly pretentious and exaggerated Willy Wonka type waft of the final statement must have given it away. I guess its vapidity was too much of a guise? I mean really, my...

    BOS Showcase: 2004 Major Works

Serpentia, considering your vast poetic knowledge you would realise that prose poetry is in fact a form of poetry in itself...it's a type of free verse poetry ;) Poetry can be anything and everything, including prose.

    Graduation Songs

Why? That's a love song, John Deacon (Queen's bass player) wrote for his wife! If you were doing a Queen song surely it'd be "We Are The Champions" or even "The Seven Seas Of Rhye" "Storm the master marathon I'll fly through By flash and thunder fire I'll survive I'll survive I'll...

    Graduation Songs

Pink Floyd - Another Brick On The Wall (Part 2) "We don't need no education We dont need no thought control No dark sarcasm in the classroom Teachers leave them kids alone Hey! Teacher! Leave us kids alone! All in all it's just another brick in the wall. All in all you're just another...

    English (Advanced) Trial Results

I think with the critical response in AOS all you have to do is have notes analysing all your texts...make sure they're good...and then work on ways to link them - either in theme or technique. The question's always something generic and it's always something to do with either the beginning...

    Case studies for year 12...

Just use one of the popular ones. All markers do is look at their marking guidelines. And all you have to do is satisfy those requirements. And that's easiest to do with a case study that has been designed for the course.

    English (Advanced) Trial Results

I got the same as Supra - 93/105 39/45 for AOS and 54/60 for the Modules test.

    Ancient Trial Results

I got 95.5 (1st - 2nd 95, 3rd 94, 4th 91) - after that it dropped to low 80's and finished in the high 20's. Either my class is extremely good or it was marked pretty easily. Personally I don't care.

    Blood journals

My final entry ended in Yours in trust, Randon student number. And I also hated the journal. I don't think it's looked at anyway. A mate of mine got 46 last year and had a journal of about 10-15 pages. And it wasn't as if it was a 50/50 brought down because of a crap journal.

    CSSA Trial Results

So far 15/20 for MC and 19/20 for the report. I think I bombed the last essay a bit though.

    CSSA Trial

At the top it said you had to refer to a case study. It threw a lot of people I know, who only read the question and didn't see the instruction on using the case study above. I didn't see it either, but put in a few points on Qantas anyway just for filler (when I found out later I was...

    Case studies for year 12...

You don't need unique case studies...you won't get any extra marks for it, and the ones like Qantas are already set out for you, so why bother?

    2004 Trials - Disscussion

I did the CSSA paper today. Pretty much as expected. I do retreat from the global and I liked the question. Question 5 was a bit different (the one everyone doing module B has to do)...normally it's more creative...but it fit retreat from the global to a tee.

has anyone done their ancient trial?

If you don't know a particular quote there's ways around it. 'Scholars suggest...' 'According to some scholars this is significant because....' etc etc etc...as long as you have a few legitimate views from real historians scattered throughout your essay, the above tactic will work...

    Maths CSSA 04 POST UP

Was it just me or was that exam a lot harder than past catholic trials? I hate all the general proof crap. Give me a couple of numbers and I'm sweet, but tell me to prove why the natural rate of exponential growth formula is how it is and I've got nothing but a sore head.
