Don't stress about getting the textbooks, u'd be crazy if u ran out and got all the prescribed ones... i reckon the best bet is to use the library until u work out what u'll actually use. Unless of course u intend to start reading before semester starts... but i'd still say ur wasting ur time...

wow... this forum realy is dead.... Economics is probably hard if u have to know the hard stuff, but i dun think hsc economics is hard... just a matter of knowing what the examiner wants, just like any other hsc subject...

Sounds like the assignment i had to do... Ross Gittins is good, whether he's a good economist or not i won't argue cos i'm no economist, but i liked to quote from him for my hsc exams, and i got the marks i was after so i guess it worked ;) For an assignment like this, what i found was useful...

Hey, I'm not sure about now, but i know that at one stage was going to try out how i like it for a trial lesson, so i'm pretty sure they'll let you try it out... be pretty dodged if they wouldn't, anyway.

I did agoneyes and medentry practice papers... i'd say i got around 60-70% too, i can't remember since it's been a while, but off the top of my head that's what i remember.

Hey, It depends on you, really - like what you think you'd be good at tutoring, etc. I've known a few friends who tutored at that age, for eg, for selective school entrance. I think at that age tho, it'd be easiest to get a job like that if u have family friends u can tutor.

Ikea has a nice range of stuff, if not try officeworks, they have furnitureworks too now, some nice stuff there, worth a look at.
