    does DUX=smartest???

well it seems a lot fairer than the schools who give it to the most firsts or whatever (although i guess that overlaps - i think it did this year), and if you wait and base it on uai's, then no one really cares any more by the time dux is awarded.

what is the best public school out there?

i went to a senior school too, but the year 12s every year always hatee the year 11s.

    iz it possible????

yeah, i don't agree with a lot of the marks that i've heard about in ext 2 english. and i'm not even bitter - i got 48/50, which i was ecstatic with, and 49 as an assessment mark. but so many people's projects seem to have got marks that are way different from what i would have expected at...

regional schools - how did you go?

Re: AND THE SCORE LADIES AND GENTLEMEN IS 1 TO SHAYNA, 1 TO JASON the latter.

regional schools - how did you go?

Re: Hey Shayna and Alys but is he usually right? or does he just like to prove other people wrong? both are equally entertaining and infuriating so ... er, yes. sure. ps - hi jason.

regional schools - how did you go?

Re: Hey Alys and Shayna town planning, that's pretty interesting. cool. i'll look out for your friend. intellectual fights are fun (hence, debating). on the other hand, i'm usually right or else i don't bother arguing. so possibly we wouldn't get on that well. at least it would make me...

regional schools - how did you go?

Re: Re: Re: Hey Alys i haven't sent it to you yet? oops, i'm lazier than i thought. yay for bumming around deciding on a career. that's my plan. brisbane will be fun. but so will sydney, and brisbane is a bit lonely from my perspective. and hot, i just can't stand heat.

How did you choose your UNI course?

why thank you. i briefly considered arts law. but then i remembered that law is close to the most boring thing in the world. my mother was a lawyer, you see.

How did you choose your UNI course?

i just looked at what i like. sadly for my career prospects, i don't like money (commerce, ugh) or science. i can do them both, but they drive me insane. consequently, i'm doing arts advanced - french, english lit, history of all sorts, other miscellaneous. it will be fun. as an added bonus...

    Syd vs. NSW

it was one of those 'get recommended by your principal' things. it was fun, but we were already down there trying desperately to learn some french anyway (here's a tip: the alliance francaise courses are a waste of money. well, the one we did was. go find yourself a penpal instead). it's the...

regional schools - how did you go?

mmm, it didn't seem that dedicated at the time. just what i did. besides, i loved all my subjects. and i didn't really work that hard - well, i don't think i worked that hard. family and friends don't agree with me on that, but i felt like i spent most of year 12 bludging.

regional schools - how did you go?

Re: Hey Alys hey josh! yeah, you have the right person (i'm too lazy for nicknames, sadly). my major, yeah, i got 48 for the external mark, and 49 overall, i was pretty ecstatic. on the other hand, i wouldn't take whatever you got to heart too much. it's such a subjective subject (wow, that...

regional schools - how did you go?

i had twelve hours of frees a week, so that kind of made up for the lack of lunchtimes (thanks mostly to distance ed). lots of sitting in the sun talking with random books open in front of me ...

    does DUX=smartest???

our school did some sort of tricky thing to try and predict who'll get the highest uai, based on internal assessments, and award dux on the basis of that. sometimes they get it right, sometimes they get it wrong. they also have another award for highest uai. last year, the girl who was dux was...

    Syd vs. NSW

ah, you should have gone to the talented students day at usyd in april or march or something. they gave us all that, plus chips, chocolate and paddle pops. yay.

regional schools - how did you go?

true, true. i got 90+ in 7, and i took 8, but i had french and french ext by distance ed, english ext after school and ext 2 during lunch. between that and debating, i had no lunchtimes for most of year 12.

regional schools - how did you go?

well, i guess if newcastle is regional then coffs definitely is - so. i got 99.6, and we had a 98.75, a 96.45, someone in the 96-7 area, a 94.something, and quite a few in the low 90s and high 80s. i'm not sure exactly of the details. our school has had everything up to 99.95 in the past...

Usyd january 2nd day for high achievers

i got invited to that, and i got a letter from unsw too (oh how exciting, although neither of them will give me money, which is what i really need). maybe the guy at andrews got it wrong? the one from unsw said top 1000 students down the bottom, i don't know if it's a similar criteria that usyd...

    Arts Degrees

i'm thinking of either arts (languages) or arts (advanced), both of which are at usyd. liberal studies is probably good if you like a wide variety of stuff (personally, i'm an humanities person, so the science and stuff doesn't appeal to me). the international one might be fun. maq is too far...

    2002 UAI's
