Just turn up to the roundhouse a little before 6, there will be tables set up, there's no need to sign anything or pay.

What do we do after enrolling?

Whatever you do, don't go to FM assist to pick up your id card if you'll be walking from lower campus on a scorching day. I was literally dripping sweat onto the form i had to fill out to get my concession sticker. Oh, and if you get the opportunity, go before oweek, it'll be comparatively...

New student - Can't activate zmail account?

Re: Can't activate zmail account Mine started working at around 4pm yesterday, so I guess it is just a matter of waiting for IT to get around to activating everything.

Can we change classes/timetable after we have enrolled?

You can vary your enrolment any time until the first week of Semester 1. I would recommend finishing your enrolment now, that way you won't miss out on the better class times, and you can still drop and move classes later if you want. To change your enrolment later on, log in to myUNSW, then...

New student - Can't activate zmail account?

Can't activate zmail account I've completely finished the enrolment process for UNSW, but I can't seem to activate my zMail account. Whenever I enter my student ID and unipass to get my "Initial Windows Live ID", i receive the error message "zmail account information could not be found"...

    Political Economy?

I just got into UNSW for a BArts, and I was interested in taking a look at political economy, since it was recommended by a friend of mine (I'm looking to major in Politics and Economics, so you can imagine why he'd recommend it). Thing is, the course handbook doesn't seems to list Political...

    Macleay 2009!!

Just remember that one big post is still just one post, and doesn't negate the numerous positive posts about Macleay.

I always wondered how people do these strange hours, I was under the impression it wasn't allowed under the Agreement to work more than a certain amount of hours per day/week, and yet I'm always seeing people at my store, generally managers, finishing the same time as I do or later, even though...

    Macleay 2009!!

After spending a year at uni doing a BA, those points are actually quite applicable to uni, in that the teachers always stressed that unlike high school, they weren't going to hold our hands all the way - that we need to start figuring stuff out ourselves. And I'm not too worried about a high...

Casual regular and overtime rates are calculated in relation to the FT/PT rates, so on regular days you get +20%. On Sundays, you should add +70% to the FT rate, rather than +50% to the usual casual pay. Calculating it that way means Woolies gets to pay you a bit less p/h.

At the rate you're paid, you would earn over $6000 if you were working full time, so you get taxed on that basis, because the ATO can't know for sure how much you'll earn until the end of the financial year (1 July 2009). If you've earned less than $6000 at that time, then you'll get all your...

Just looking through the pay grades, and I noticed some employees are entitled to a laundry and freezer allowance. Is this added to my pay when I start, or do I need to apply for these allowances?

I've had my shifts cut back as well, from 24 to 8 hours. I asked my manager about this last week, and he said he'd get me some work in another department, but all he manages to do is get me one more shift on Wednesday, and despite telling him I'm available every day now that uni's over, he's...

    Macleay College professional recognition?

I've just stumbled across Macleay, and after reading their site and the opinions of current students on BOS, it's certainly tickled my fancy. The only problem is, most of the opinions I've seen in previous threads were from current students, and I really want to know in what regard a Diploma...

Should the Hadron Collider be allowed?

Oh, and the collisions weren't delayed by litigation from deluded non-scientists. They were delayed by a fault in the construction, which requires months to fix.

Should the Hadron Collider be allowed?

Every time you go driving, there is a risk that you'll veer off the road and kill a pedestrian. In fact, the likelihood of that happening is probably much greater than that of the LHC killing a mosquito, so should we hold a referendum every time someone wants to exit their driveway?

So all the shelves in the cool room are replaces with roll cages, five packed pallets in our tiny cool room mean I need to spend five minutes to maneuver then around so I can open a single cage, and because we always seem to be out of most stock by Friday the shelves outside are barren of almost...
