    entry into UWS

I got told 3000 people applied this year and only 100 positions are on offer. so very high competition. last year section 3 was given a lower weighting than section one and section 2, it was 100 100 50. Also people in the Greater Western Sydney Region have lower UMAT and ATAR cut offs. Selection...

    Multiple choice answers

It is in my interests for the answer to be B because thats what i put, but I heard from my physics teacher that it is C. He says the force exerted does not change because the earth is there. and also lunar elipses dont happen every time the moon orbits the earth (dont they happen every 28 days...

    Band Cut offs?

btw anyone done 2004 paper? That year cut off for 90 in physics was 74 look at acmilian, he got 95 in physics by getting 87 http://community.boredofstudies.org/134/atar-hsc-marks-technical-arcana/55648/board-studies-reveals-2004-raw-marks.html however in 2001, according to lazarus, it was 78...

    Multiple choice answers

sorry to pop your bubble but it's pretty much decided that 9. is A. and you said 9 is C? If you think about it using lenz's law, you said current goes to P right? but that means the field created by this new current will cancel out with the current field BELOW the conductor, thus increasing the...

    Multiple choice answers

for question 9, ok field directed into page so fingers into page, direction of conductor down page so thumb points down the page and palm points to right so current is to right. but asks for electrons so electrons go to left therefore P which is A. I hope that helps

    how was it

CLUMP ETC ETC= flocculation, so this occurs before chlorination according to CSIRO. btw why are you talking about sewage? I'm pretty sure sewage is not reused for domestic use in australia. I'm starting to think they will mark it as both B and D, but the roland smith conquering chem text book is...

    Multiple Choice

Flocculation a.k.a. coagulation occurs AFTER the pH has been raised to precipitate aluminium ions or Fe3+, so the answer from excel would be B. The pH needs to be adjusted to have enough OH- ions to precipitate out the added cations which then flocculate . A could not be correct as it implies...

    Killed by multiple choice?

perhaps the question was asking about the clarification of water, and in what order that was done. I didn't keep the exam but I think option B in the question was something like [pH adjustment]> [flocculation]> [settling]? correct me if i'm wrong yes i think it was an ambiguous question...

    Killed by multiple choice?

you shouldnt guess you're right lol. btw I used conquering chemistry 4th edition, and it clearly says pH is adjusted before flocculation (it doesn't say anything about pH adjustment afterwards). This is interesting that textbooks say different things, how nasty of the board of studies.

    Bread Question

yeah i think i got 1.77 too. probably got different answers cuz some people rounded their numbers before the final step. i did all the calculations from the start and used the calculator memory and ended up with 1.77. but i dont think being .01 off will lose you a mark, you showed your knowledge...
