Omie, it's starting a week earlier this year because they want to incorporate the new 13 week semester into the academic year while allowing students to finish for the summer break at the same time as previous years. That means we have to start uni earlier though. :(

I think UNSW focuses quite intensely on their Commerce and Law depts as well. UNSW is from what I have heard, on par with USYD in the Law area. Definitely go to USYD if you're considering arts, but for Law, Commerce and Engineering, UNSW is the way to go! They're the best in NSW for those areas.
