Trapped gas bubbles in ice-cores in Antarctica.

I am confused as to whether other oxides of nitrogen and sulfur is also present int the Antarctic ice-core drilling's findings. I thought only carbon dioxide was involved. Some sample answers related this to oxides of nitrogen and sulfur. I am confused. Can anyone clarify whether oxides of N and...

Anyone up for a Astrophysics Marathon?

White dwarfs have a solar mass of less than 1.4 (Chandrasekar Limit). This means that the electron degeneracy pressure can hold back its gravitational collapse, causing it to be more denser and no longer undergoes fusion reaction. Correct me if I am wrong.

Anyone up for a Astrophysics Marathon?

When a newly formed protostar acquires an equilibrium such that its gravitational collapse is balanced by an outward pressure from the heat by its core. The protostar then accretes more material from the cloud surrounding it which then blows off the rest to reveal itself which was previously...

Projectile motion on Ideas to Implementation question.

Thank you. I checked the marking guidelines now and they seem to have a reference to horizontal component of the velocity. Can you have a look at that too? Thanks again.

Projectile motion on Ideas to Implementation question.

That's how I done it, but the sample answers uses somehow horizontal component of the velocity and their answer is 2.9x10^-8 seconds.

Projectile motion on Ideas to Implementation question.

This is from 2009. I don't get it why they use horizontal component instead of vertical. Can someone explain part b ?

A 1.0 W beam of light transfers 1.0 J per second from one point to another. With reference to the particle model of light, contrast a 1.0 W beam of red light and a 1.0 W beam of blue light. 2 marks (2011)

Anyone up for a Shipwrecks Marathon?

The early ships contained iron as the main metal for most of its counterparts. Due to the fact that aquatic environment are salty, it accelerate the process or rusting. This meant that the iron in ships were rusting overtime and incapable of lasting a long time at the marine environment. By the...
