    General Thoughts: History Ext

I focused heaps on uncommon case studies for the first question. Went of the basic Herodotus/Livy/Tacitus structure before delving into the post-modern nature of the public opinion and based most of my response on the history wars, the internet and Assassins creed (Yes, seriously, apparently...

    Scaling of Subjects

This is the largest load of shit that i have seen on BoS. Your subjects scale very well, with the exception of SoR. All of them will scale slightly up (other then SoR) assuming you get a decent mark (above 80), while economics and physics typically scale quite well (mark of 85 will be pumped...

    Band 3/4/5/6 cut offs

Markers go about marking through a specific mechanism - Positive marking. They do not take marks off, they give marks. The idea is that a band-6 student should be able to synthesise enough information to fit onto the space they give you. Going over by 6 pages will just put them in a bad mood...

    Band 3/4/5/6 cut offs

I think you may have shot yourself in the foot a bit. The key to biology is not knowledge-dumping, but the precise communication of relevant information. 6 pages is going to leave a bad impression on the marker, and gives you 6 times the chances of making what is called a "contradiction". In...

    Section 1, Part A - Multiple Choice

Because every new generation, the same biscuits are put back into the jar. In reality, the biscuits would change over time, because yellow biscuits would give birth to more yellow biscuits

    Section 1, Part A - Multiple Choice

Re: General Thoughts: Biology What did you guys answer for the MC one that had the picture of the pathogen and was like which pathogen is this? Cause I was confident in my answer but my friend answered another one so I'm really confused. Lol It was a bacterium, it had membrane-bound...

    General Thoughts: Biology

It was a bacterium, it had membrane-bound organelles from memory. Eukaryote protozoans do not.

Who is in the same situation as me. Doing a one night cram for economics.

Re: For question 28 I didnt talk about microeconomic policies? comments Ahaha, this was such an extension history type question. Don't worry, the markers recognise that there is too much to write about for which is supposed to be a 35-45 minute essay (even though most of us spend like and hour...

    Rate difficulty of exam

Too easy. The only thing slightly difficult were about 4 of the multiple choice (which could be figured out as long as you paid attention and crossed out the obviously wrong ones) and the last question for Genetics option topic - Thank god i studied that x.x

    General Thoughts: Biology

Multiple choice questions were a bit rough, but do-able. Hopefully 19 or 20 for that. The main section i felt was a breeze. Yes, lots of long-ish questions, but they all offered good opportunities to pick up marks. The genetics Option topic was a bit of a scam XD Im SO lucky that i studied...

    Section I - Multiple Choice

Christopher, Is there any reason you say that, despite the working posted above?
  13. E

    Section I - Multiple Choice

I suspect that this question will be discounted. I've heard very convincing arguments from both sides, and even my teachers are arguing back and forth on emails about it. Either way, the working I posted before seems too complicated for a multiple-choice, so i suspect they were over-thinking...

    Section I - Multiple Choice

I answered $2 for Q18, but i got an interesting response from a teacher, who said such: The answer is $4. Why? It is all to do with the law of supply (Y11 Econ). Before the subsidy, At $10 there were all suppliers only willing and able to supply 12 towels to the market. With the...

    Mark Prediction please

    >Gets basic calculations wrong >Accuses me of having a "late education" Logic at it's finest. Nup, no madness here, this is quite lulzworthy.

    Mark Prediction please

#1 you need to look up the definition of confidence #2 repeat yr 3 maths, 40-5 = 35 not 36

    Section I - Multiple Choice

the question was "all other things being equal". Spending AND Saving cannot both rise at the same time unless income increases. The answer was D, as MPS would fall

You LEFT IT BLANK??? Stupidest thing i've heard.

    General Thoughts: Economics

Such an easy test. Have gone over answers, 19/19 for Multiple choice for sure, maybe lost 1 or 2 for the short answer (only put down 2 points for the females getting paid less, might lose a mark for that....) and hopefully 18/20 for each essay, because i got down 7 pages for each, with heaps of...

General Thoughts: English Paper 1 (AOS)

Ran out of time for the essay, ended up with a pretty pathetic 4.5 paged "thing" (i pause at calling it an essay) which barely covered what it needed to. Doubt it will be an 10/15. Went well on the other sections though. LOVED the short answers. Apparently the man up top didn't punish me...
