    Share your 2013 ATAR here

sinasmanesh, the same thing happened with me for English Extension, so I saw my school about it... They said the reason my assessment mark was lower was because they moderate the assessment marks to make it more even across all of the subjects or something like that. I thing I would've got to 85...

    Share your 2013 ATAR here

Wow, everyone's done so well! You shouldn't worry about the ATARs you need for your courses unless you're heaps far off, bonus points can probably get most of you there :) I ended up with 84.30, I wanted 85 but I'm so close to that that I don't even care!!

Carrotsticks' Extension 1 HSC 2013 Solutions

Wow, looking at Carrotsticks' Results, when I'm only giving myself marks that I know for sure that I got I am on 40/70, and when I'm being generous I am on 47/70, which is still considerably lower than my trial mark of 60/70... Good thing I have misadventure for a personal matter then, I guess...

    General Thoughts: Mathematics Extension 1

I thought it was pretty difficult too, and I felt pretty well prepared for the exam before I went in. I didn't even bother with binomial theorem, I never understood it anyway... Goodbye 80-85% average for the entire year in MX1 :/ I think I actually failed this one...

Average time to write 1000 words

It takes me about 40 minutes to write 1000 words, but more words might not guarantee more marks in the end. It's about the quality, not the quantity. :)

"HSC in the Holidays"...Are the lectures any good?

I went to the Chemistry, Biology and English Advanced lectures, and they were pretty helpful for me (but I don't go to a selective high school). I think the workshops next school holidays, which are 8 hour workshops, would be even more helpful though. The people giving the lectures were teachers...

    Do you have Synesthesia?

Can you please tell me some of your experiences with it, good or bad, and how that's affected you? If you could it would help me a lot...

    Do you have Synesthesia?

If you have synesthesia, it would be a great favour to me if you could tell me your experiences with it. I am currently in the process of gathering as much information on the disorder as possible for my English Extension 2 major work and need to know more realistically about it (i.e. how you...

How do you study 2u mathematics?

You need to keep doing questions. Whenever you're set homework, make sure you do it the day you received it so that it's more likely to stick in your memory. I find doing my homework a few days after I get it just screws me up and I don't remember half of what I was taught the day the homework...

How Can I Find The Perfect Study Space for Me?

The only place I can think of with wifi is MacDonald's or Hungry Jacks (which I work at) and both are close to my school but about a 20 minute walk from my house. The only problem with that is that it's fast food and so it gets quite busy... I guess I could try some of those places out, thanks...

How Can I Find The Perfect Study Space for Me?

The only problem with that is that my house is very small. We have 6 people living in a 3 bedroom house, so there's not much room as it is :P First world problems, I know, but at the moment I either study at the dinner table, on my bedroom floor or on my bed and so far it's not working as well...

dealing with depression, anxiety disorders and the HSC.

I think another important think to do is find something that relaxes you or helps you to clear your head. My mum always tells me to go for a walk or to do something where I don't have to think about whatever is making you anxious as much since I'll have something else to concentrate on. But I...

How Can I Find The Perfect Study Space for Me?

Finding somewhere to study in my house is very difficult- I have 3 siblings who are home usually whenever I'm home so there is a lot of noise, I share a bedroom with my younger sister and so I have no desk, and the only proper writing space is the dining room which is right between the kitchen...
