Does your performance in Year 10 predict how well you will do in your HSC?

That's what my teacher told us, and it's been ringing in my head ever since. I'm in Year 10. I have not given my studies too much attention at all. So if I'm not amazing in Year 10, does this mean I won't be amazing in Year 11 and 12?

How screwed am I for 2U math?

I am in Year 10. I picked 2u math for next year, and based on my abilities for mere Year 10 math, I don't think the chances of me surviving are very high. I understand basic concepts, for example I KNOW how to do clear-cut questions such as : Find the value of x for this triangle (for sin...

Taking up extra-circulars in Year 11

Will this affect my studies and overall performance? For example, if I want to take up a hobby like sport, music etc in between study times or like on weekends, will this have an impact on my goal - which is to get an ATAR above 97? Or is there no use studying 24/7 and throwing in a bit of fun...

Should I do Business Studies or Modern History?

Which is better? Or should I do both since I'm going into Year 11, and drop the one I dislike / not okay with, in Year 12? P.S: At first I wanted to do 10 units in Year 12, but my mum says it's too "proud" (since if you do 10 units, you have to be certain you're gonna succeed in all of them...

    maths in the hsc

Wait, so if I do 2 unit math only - none of my work towards it will be counted towards my ATAR?

Is it still correct / the same?

For example, if you factorise an equation and get (3x + 2)(-2x + 5), but the answer says (3x +2)(5-2x) - is it still correct [my original answer]? Considering -2 + 5 and 5-2 = positive 3.
