    Some questions about EAS?

Search for the USYD's E12 application checklist online. The due date is on the 19th of September.

    trials cancelled

I believe it is between 5 to 12 adjustment points, could be more. For example, a student who is from an 'EAS school' has an ATAR of 87 applying for Engineering. Five adjustment points will be awarded towards him therefore bringing his selection rank to 92. He also achieved an E4 in Maths...

    trials cancelled

You could try searching the UNSW Gateway Admission Pathway Program run by the Access & Equity (Students). If I am not mistaken, there is a list on their website. 'Gateway schools' are identified as taking the three-year average of ICSEA for schools in NSW. Hope this helps.

    Lockdown extension

Last year, some schools allowed only the year 11s & 12s to attend school. Transitioning to online learning was a challenge for both teachers and students; it was only given/offered to Year7 -10. When the Covid situation worsens, schools decided to move to online learning for everyone. There were...

Employment in engineering after 3 year gap

Have you tried contacting your university or maybe the place you did your internship? My best suggestion is to get your resume updated, account for the gaps & contact your old faculty. They may have industry nights where you could attend. This might help. Hope it works out for you. :)

    E12 USYD medicine

Side note-USYD E12 applications close on the 19th of September and not on the 30th of September. I thought I mention this because I have heard of some applicants missing out because they assumed that it is the 30th. It is important to keep tabs on the important dates as we are already in April.

    Sending UCAT Results

UCAT ANZ Consortium does not require your UAC pin. When you select a medicine program (med schools that require you to sit for the UCAT ANZ) in your 'course preferences' in your UAC application, it will automatically ask you to type in your UCAT ANZ number. Hope this helps.

Q&A Thread - studying medicine and being a doctor

The medical school I'm with issued a list of 'prescribed' and 'recommended' books often with electronic access. My question is if it would be a good idea to own a couple of them like Gray's anatomy for students, Netters (this isn't on the list but I hear that the illustrations are good) & maybe...

Q&A Thread - studying medicine and being a doctor

Thank you for your reply, I'm not a Biology student but have collected a few secondhand Biology texts through high school. I have to put that on my list now. Thank you for starting this topic. Have to say, you've an impressive list of awards!

    Good laptops for Uni??

Quick question- lectures and some tutorials are online due to the present situation therefore one can guess how much work is done on this machine; would it be advisable to buy another laptop? Current one does shut down from time to time I believe from overheating 🔥. Would appreciate any thoughts...

    Dropping Physics

Apologies for digressing here but I heard that there are new rules, if you wanna call them rules, to rural classification. Three or four years ago, if you are living outside Sydney in regional NSW, you'll probably be given the full EAS points & that will added to your selection rank in med...

Anyone doing medicine in uni rn?🧐

All med schools are accredited by the AMC so they are essentially all the same. The topics of conversation you normally hear are on logistics (travel times to the campus? are you prepared to live on campus & for how long?), bonded and unbonded places, how many years it takes to finish your...

How difficult would a 89+ ATAR be given my meh start to year 12?

Judging by your scores, getting an 89+ is achievable. You'll be surprise how well you'll do by merely keeping up with what you've got. Try to increase your rank for Maths & English Adv. look at it as a bonus. A small improvement should do it. Everyone feels a little demotivated at the start of...

    Medicine 😎

Yes. The cut-off for rural applicants is lower than the metro applicants. For JMP UON/UNE I believe the ATAR cut-off is 91.45. Only mentioning JMP here because you mentioned that you reside in Newcastle. Your aim of 99.85 will see you quite comfortable. As for the UCAT, in reality MSO reported...
