I've heard that from many people, but there are no documents supporting it.
additionally, when I called nesa last year, they said that it was between me and my school and they would not get involved.
I'm so glad that I went out of my way to do extension 2 maths externally, despite my school not letting me doing it internally.
as someone who's 1. doing a degree in the faculty of engineering at unsw and 2. doing a minor in math, doing ext 2 just sets you up so well for core math courses...

If you didn't get into extension 2 maths at your own school and your school is adamant about not letting you do it, an option is to do it...

I talked to the head of math today and he's really adamant about not letting anyone that wasn't invited in. the requirement was actually 80% in ext 1 and 90%+ in adv exams :/

They believe that if you can't get those marks in all...
Students already kinda knew that we had to be ranked somewhere in the top 10 (we didn't know the exact number but max class sizes in previous years had been around 15 - 10 ), the problem was that those who were not invited were never told that the course had started or that they were not invited...
My school didn't even notify us about ext 2 math selections and they didn't tell us when the course would start. They privately emailed invites to those who ranked ~top 10 in both their ext1 and adv classes. People were still asking about picking up ext 2 after the course had commenced and the...
