    [help] question about neutralisation

Yes, the neutralisation reaction is exothermic and as such will produce heat - i.e can be a danger.

    oral / fingering and STDs

Yes, you can be born with a variety of diseases transmitted in the perinatal period. Herpes is one of them, and it is a devastating occurence with a very high morbidity and mortality. Its because the infection is much more likely to attack the brain or become disseminated in a newborn than an adult.

I'll change my awesomeness scent to lavender for you :) Nah, i just fluked it I think. I've never done better in the times i've sat it since (probably because i spend all my time memorising the questions for later use to help mould my ones lol :D)

LOL, i hope the website design is nice...we paid a mint for it :( As for my 'one of the very best in the country', I intentionally did that because although I am all but certain I got first in NSW in the UMAT (someone in adelaide beat me) I don't want to put claims that I don't know are 100%...

    HPV Vaccinations

Well, if she makes sure she never sleeps with anyone who has slept with anyone before, then she'll be ok. And big brother will be watching her....:)

    HPV Vaccinations

There isn't just one HPV virus. The vaccine targets types 16 and 18 which are mainly cervical cancer and 6 and 11 wich mainly cause genital warts. Therefore even if someone already has HPV, chances are they don't have all four types so the vaccine will still be partially useful. My sister had...

Not being my field of expertise I couldn't tell you about STAT tutoring colleges. I know some individuals that do it though. As for estimated UAI, that only UNSW because they carry out their interviews before you even sit the HSC. As for what happens if schools underestimate it...there is a...

    Umat Tutoring

STAT is a very different exam to the UMAT. Some elements are similar but because most UMAT tuition is finely tuned to suit the UMAT test's style you won't find it beneficial. Go through the past papers and I think you'll find it fairly easy. As for other people starting courses up, I take it as...

So I want to become a doctor...

As Lotto said Aseric, it is only a maybe for tranferring from medical science to med. You would have to perform very well in a course that is full of people studying their guts out trying to get into med just like you. If you can get in via undergraduate methods, then definately do so!

UMAT and UAI results of current medical students

UNSW 2003 UAI 99.9 UMAT percentiles: 99 97 100. I got my first round offer for med UNSW. From experience I can tell you that despite what they put up on this link http://www.med.unsw.edu.au/medweb.nsf/page/Latest_News#local they put more emphasis on the UAI. UWS on the other hand, is much more...

    All those doing medicine...

1)Its all here. Basically, if you don't get 97 or above your chances are slim. http://www.med.unsw.edu.au/medweb.nsf/page/Latest_News#local 2) There are three things I think you should include here. a) Something personal. I.e some reason that 'inspired' you to do med, whether it be a sickness...

    AMSA CONVENTION 'laide 07'

Yeah, we don't have the prowess of Adelaide in skolling. Hey, you go to Adelaide, do you know Zac?

    AMSA CONVENTION 'laide 07'

I've been to every AMSA that I could have (from Tassie in first year to Adelaide this year) and yeah, UNSW is pretty poor, but it has been improving. We had 20 in Tassie, 25 in Sydney but we had around 40 in Perth! I still remember being one of only 3 UNSW first years in Tassie though...that was...

Mate, you are dead right about the practice side of things. There is NO substitute for it, and I don't care what fancy methods any UMAT tuition place offers. No course can turn you into a world beater overnight. Teaching of the technique however, helps you along the way a lot. Let me break it...

Indeed they would mean nothing. Unless we happened to be running UMAT preparation courses and teaching other people how to do it. It just happens to be the single biggest question that students mothers ask me. Otherwise its just a number like everything else.

My name is Michael Caristo and I run a UMAT preparation centre and what you are offering sounds surprisingly similar to my own. By the way mate, my UMAT percentiles were 296 and my UAI was 99.9 and I'm willing to bet by the sound of your course that I taught you to get into medicine. Otherwise...
