Number of pages of Ext1 English

I have fairly smooshy writing. But it's so true: it's all to do with quality of the writing and analysis. Did you all get kinda weird creative questions? Most people I've talked to said that the question didn't really relate to their module but they twisted it in some way...

    How did you go?

Hey, it was pretty good. MC was a synch, really liked the core questions, but for our option (equity and health) there was a tricky question.

    2008 HSC drama students

Hi, yeah, I'm doing Drama for HSC this year. I'm doing performance for my IP too. I've got a really solid idea and I'm in the process of drafting it out. We're doing Contemporary Australian Theatre Practice using Ruby Moon by Matt Cameron and Seven Stages of Grieving by Wesley Enoch and Deborah...

    Calling the 'Gendered Language' Few

Hmmmm. I read a quote that went something along the lines of: "Only a completely undetermined woman would simply aim to be equal to men and not completely superior" It's a thought.

    07 Gendered Languageers!

Haha. Yeah, it's pretty weird. My teacher is amazing though, it's just hard because it's easy to find sexist texts and stuff, but then trying to analyse them in terms of "Tannen" techniques. BAH!! Slightly difficult. lol

    The Alchemist

I don't think it'll work for imaginative journeys. Sorry. Try The Wizard of Oz. I'd say that'd work pretty darn well. :)

    Twelfth Night

Well we've been told to read it over the holidays. Basically, you can see how the different styles of language (male and female, as described by Tannen) work to acheive different purposes. Viola speaks very directly using imperatives and questions merely to gain information when talking with...

    The Alchemist

Thankyou so much for this!! I hadn't even thought of it.. Funny because my teacher handed me the book at the end of last term and said "read this!! You'll love it" Bet she was hinting very subtly that it could be used for related material, or maybe just that I'd like it. lol

does anyone like my inner journey story idea??

Don't try to make your idea too complex - mental illnesses are a huge concept to explore. Remember, you only get 40mins to write about it. Also, you should stick to an idea where you know a lot about it, or something you've experienced, that way you're more able to put in the emotions, and...

    07 Gendered Languageers!

Hey, All you now ex-extensioners, hope you all went well!! Felt confident anyway. I've just started Gendered Language for '08, so any notes you've got, or even just lists of possible related material would be much appreciated!! Thanking you muchly :)

    Calling the 'Gendered Language' Few

Golly goodness me.. "The Chad" has got to be "The Chad" that Mrs Newton keeps talking about.. HAHA. I'm doing Gendered Language for HSC '08 and I think it's great. So long as you do the work, the concepts are sooooooo easy to grasp! And fully, yeah, I analyse everyone as they talk, and...
