our teacher showed us this reallly really long method of proving the reflection property of the ellipse and hyperbola. i was wondering if there was an easy, preferably, quick method. ???

nope our teacher alwasys lets a=o then solve for v. cause when there is no acceleration it is at max velocity. u know that from 3 unit (SHM)

i tried to work out equation of curve using general form of parabola then working out what a,b,c equal by subbing in the points written above. but i can't get a parabola to work, so maybe its a cubic? but i can't work out the equation of a cubic using 4 points and general form can u?

yeah i thought cause it had two x values for the one y value that the correlation between the x and y values was a parabola so i subed in 3 of the points (1,3) (2,3) (4,6) (5,8) into the general equation y=ax^2 + bx +c and got an equation by solving the three simultanously. but the...
