    few questions on acturial studies

dvse - just wondering, did you attempt this while you were at uni (i.e doing investments in addition to a full load of uni subjects)? I've been getting mixed messages from friends who have received advice from colleagues at work regarding this.

    Attention Actuarial Studies Students

For com/sci students it would be discrete maths (i think its math1081?) For straight commerce it depends on your co-major/minor. If finance, then FINS1612

    UNSW Co-op

I think it's something like 600-800+ applicants (with actuarial studies as their first choice) 50-60 interviews about 15 get in

    UNSW Co-op

From past experience, we don't really care about your subjects. It's more about what you write on your application form. Apparently one of the scholars from my year was able to get a phone/webcam interview as he lives in Darwin. Yes. At that point you won't have any of your marks or...

    UNSW Co-op

16 Actuarial Studies Co-op Scholars were chosen in 2006, 17 in 2007 and I think 13 in 2008, so yeah, about 15. It depends on how many companies are willing to sponsor us.

Actuarial Studies International Recognition-Mac or UNSW

As stated above, it depends on whether current co-ops get kicked out, or new sponsors join the program. Don't count on it - your best chance is getting in as a first year co-op. Correction: http://community.boredofstudies.org/136/faculty-commerce/35469/actuarial-exemptions/3.html

Actuarial Studies International Recognition-Mac or UNSW

As Affinity mentioned above, you can still get in if a current scholar is kicked out due to not making the credit average, or simply decides to leave. Another possibility is that a new sponsor company may sign-up part-way through your degree, in which case there will be another place available.

2006 Hsc Ext 1 Maths Solutions

Hey there. Good effort with the solutions =) I actually tried the paper today because I wanted to see what the fuss was all about. It's quite straightforward if you know what you're doing, although a little rushed. For the most part I agree with what you've done, although I think there...

    complex nos. vectors question

hold on a second; i just thought of something since z1 -iz2 -z3 + iz4 = 0 therefore (z1 - z3) = i(z2-z4) we all agree that the diagonals are perpendicular. and from the other condition, that opposite sides are equal. but, rotation by i does not affect the length of a vector...

    complex nos. vectors question

the answer I got was that it is either a square or a rhombus. from z1 - z2 + z3 - z4 = 0 opposite sides are equal from z1 -iz2 -z3 + iz4 = 0 diagonals are perpendicular the two quadrilaterals with those properties are the square and rhombus.

    complex nos. vectors question

aah many thanks. It was the third one which I needed. Nothing particularly special struck me until I saw it in factorised form.

    complex nos. vectors question

Hi guys! Vectors has always been the weakest part of complex numbers for me, so a little help would be appreciated in confirming the solution to this question: The four complex numbers z1, z2, z3, z4 are represented by A, B, C and D respectively. If z1 - z2 + z3 - z4 = 0 and z1 -iz2 -z3...
