    Cumberland 2006- Who's starting?

Yeah i got that notice about the grammar bridging course too. I can't go and so I emailed the lecturer and she said that all the content is in first semester linguistics, it will just be heaps faster.

    Cumberland - Health Sciences

Hey all, I'm enrolled for speech pathology this year at cumberland. I was just wondering if cumberland students are allowed to attend some fo the more fun orientation stuff at the main campus. Thanks, Sam

    important for tomorrow

Yes he noticed all the twitching and stuff and concluded that the electricity came from the animal. He called it animal electricity. His work has led to a whole branch of chemistry called electrophysiology or something. I haven't seen many questions where we have to go into anymore detail than...

    Australian Maritime Projects

Restoration is all the things they do to fix up all the problems with the artefact e.g. electrolytic cleaning. Conservation is all the things they do to make sure it doesn't corrode anymore e.g. using an epoxy paint (vernon anchors) or a mirco crystalline wax (endeavour cannon).

    Electrolysis - cleaning copper

In the reduction reaction shown above, the Cl- is a spectator ion, so the real reduction equation would be Cu+ & e- --> Cu (solid) - sorry i'm shocking at writing equations on computers.

    Australian Maritime Projects

We went to the maritime museum. Thearchaelogical atrefacts we did were the Endeavour Cannon and the Vernon Anchors. Maybe if you Google them you could get some decent info.

    Quantitative Analysis for Rust

The weighing method seems to be the only method for quantitative analysis in a school lab. As with many of the experiments we do it is not completely valid, but as long as we are aware of that it'll be fine.

Music 2 - How Did You Go??!!

Yeah, i agree that it was a challenging paper, especially compared to last years. The melodic dictation was hard i thought because it was so SLOW. Oh well, last music exam ever! WOO!

    Preparing for Essays

I don't know if anyone will read this b4 the exam, but all the exemplar answers I've seen from the musicology section have used direct quotes from the score, mostly written on the piece of manuscript they give us. So I suppose learning a few direct quotes or examples of graphic notation would...

I don't know... It was a random idea, but come to think of it they are not a particularly good example. Sorry.

    Harmonic features - Music 2

Thanks for that. For say, the Music 2 paper where we get a 2 minute excerpt, would those more simple things be adequate?

    q4 biased toward 4 unit

I don't know if this is really wrong but i used the sin^2(x) identity thing and then expanded. I got a cos^2(2x) and then I used the same thing again but the cos^2(x) identity thing. Does that make sense?

    hardest 3U paper

You can probably tell what they might ask by looking at the 2U paper. They did ask a mortgage repayment in 2U so I doubt it will be that, but they might throw in a superannuation. :S I suppose its better than one of those tricky binomials or projectiles

    Harmonic features - Music 2

Hi everyone, I've come across a number of hsc papers where they ask you for harmonic features, usually from a given score extract. All I can ever think of are lame things like: Repeated use of a certain interval Grace notes Pedal points Melodic ostinatos Can anyone think of any others...

HSC student. And it was the only letter I have received. The more I look at it, the more generic it looks. Its probably just something they send to everyone. Thanks for that
