    Summer School '07

Any idea if Sydney will give me credit for a subject I do at UNSW or somewhere else? There's not much choice for subjects at Sydney.

    Favourite band(s)

BRMC, The Verve, and The Music. Edit: Haven't heard this anywhere else, but according to NME Richard Ashcroft was arrested a few days ago for, bizaarely, "bursting into a youth club and asking to work with the teenagers present". http://www.nme.com/news/richard-ashcroft/23405

    The Strokes

I also got my Strokes tickets for the Hordern, but far more importantly I got my Yeah Yeah Yeahs tickets.

    New Metallica Song

Haha, on that clip I posted the link for some german fan screams out "Yeeeeaaahhhh!" about 0:47 into the clip, and he sounds exactly like Augustus Gloop. :)

    New Metallica Song

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOfyt62zLsg I heard it and personally didn't think it was that bad, more akin to the Black Album then St Anger, but I'll withhold all judgements until something is actually recorded. In better Metallica news, they've been playing the whole Master of Puppets...

    Australian Movies

I don't think it's inappropriate to say Australia is a fairly jovial nation, and the article, which was a real article, just suggested that there haven't been many good movies in recent times to reflect this. It's not a rock solid definitive point, just something interesting.

    Australian Movies

The Tracker, The Castle, Looking for Alibrandi, and Shine are my fave Aussie movies. There was an interesting article in the paper a little while back bemoaning the fact that for a nation that loves to laugh, all the big Australian films in recent times are of a very serious and 'dark' nature...

    Subject Reviews (with PDF compilation)

Re: Subject Reviews I very much disagree on this one, I love almost everything about Engl 1002, particularly Liam Semler's lectures which are the best I've been to in my three semesters at Uni. I love this subject.

    Come Together Festival

I've got a weekend pass and can't wait, I've never been to Luna Park before. I love Gyroscope, but overall I think the Sunday lineup is a lot better. Magic Dirt!

    PRESETS GIG - invitation

Presets rocked at BDO, if I don't go to Rebel Rebel next weekend I will probably go to this. Everyone should go to Rebel Rebel, Liars will be there!

    Your dalliance with The Classics

I posted the thread for a bit of fun, just because I happen to like both books and lists. I'm not suggesting these novels are the greatest ever written, or even that they are good, its just like, a conversation topic. There's no need for anyone's feathers to be ruffled or brows to be...

    Transfer Q's

Here's my transfer question: I plan on applying for a mid year transfer from B Psych to B Arts at Sydney, and I will have to apply for a full fee paying place as no HECS places are left. I am told there is not much complication here. What I'm worried about is having to stay on a full fee...

    Splendour in the Grass 2006

Sonic Youth? Holy crap that would be awesome. Fingers crossed for the following possibilities: The Strokes We Are Scientists Yeah Yeah Yeahs Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (my beloved) I went to Splendour last year and it was the best thing I did all year, here's hoping I get...

    Your dalliance with The Classics

Does the fact that we have all read so few of these alleged 'classics' reflect poorly on us, learned BOS folk, as readers? Surely not; it is the list that is wrong.

    10 000 Days

I'm very excited. Lateralus was my favourite album of all time for a long while and still rocks, and I still have a lot of time for Tool.

    Your dalliance with The Classics

I couldn't find a thread about it, so for those who care... According to Time Magazine these are the 100 greatest novels all time: Taken from http://www.time.com/time/2005/100books/the_complete_list.html So how is everyone's grasp of the classics? Shamingly, I've only read a measly...
