    BoS USyders 2006! (Roll Call)

I will be there in 2007 which makes my post here pretty redundant but I want to join the excitement!! Bachelor of Arts (Media and Communications) first year, deferring

How many exams did it take u 2 pass?

I got my red p's first go on a Friday 13th in May this year, raining so hard it was almost hail, and school zones kicked in halfway through my test which made me panic. So Friday the 13th isn't unlucky at all :D

    Quick graphs question

For example if you're given a graph with a vertical asymptote and asked to sketch y = 1/f(x), is this graph defined for the asymptote? I was marked down in my trial for putting an open circle on this kind of question and my teacher told me 1/(undefined) was equal to zero. But the past HSC...

    BOS Showcase: 2005 Major Works

There's no need for defensive mode anyway ;) -- I hope I wasn't too negative, because that's definitely not my overall impression. The dialogue you mentioned was definitely one, because I could tell you were simply trying to tell the audience something, but I can also understand why you needed...

    BOS Showcase: 2005 Major Works

Hey Jayphen, I enjoyed your major work for the most part. To me your language in much of the first section was a bit contrived, especially in the opening section; but it's maybe just a personal preference and grated me the wrong way! Even though you said in your RS the dialogue was particularly...

    BOS Showcase: 2005 Major Works

Thanks so much for your comment, I really appreciate it! It's kinda funny, though, because I wrote 'making wonderland' first :p The thing I feel that's wrong with it is that at that point I was too caught up in the whole creating-meaning thing that what I wrote was painstaking and pretty...

    BOS Showcase: 2005 Major Works

Thanks Tez0r :) PS Illmatic I hate mine too! I've refused to read it again for the past week haha. It got worse every time I read it, though I'm hoping that's just a trick my mind is playing on me ;)

    BOS Showcase: 2005 Major Works

Now that c_james has covered the post-modern genre, hopefully I can post mine safely :p. I've only glanced through it, hopefully I'll be able to read everyone's after trials! I'm wasting too much time as it is haha. There's a few random title pages and quotes missing because I never got...

    HSC answers

Our teacher ordered the book from 1994-2004, and the rest is in a book my sister used when she did the 4 unit course in 1994 (that's the papers 1987 - 1993). So sorry I don't know where either came from!

    HSC answers

I've got 1987 - 2004, but I kinda need them! :p Unfortunately I don't have a scanner either, but if there's any specific questions I'm happy to type in a few or something (when my trials are over).

    Doing tutoring after HSC?

This isn't identical... but I've been tutoring for the past year (I've pretty much stopped now 'cos of the HSC), kids from year 7 - 10, I was making $100 a week at one point. You find it's hard to get the first few kids, but once that happens, I know I was inundated with calls from parents whose...

    Anyone not finished yet?

You're completely crazy. I could almost believe it if you were doing a short story, but a CRITICAL RESPONSE? I was daunted by that when I had 10 months to complete it. Hence why I did a story. I will hail you as a god if you get a decent mark :p GOOD LUCK!

The Official BOS 'Hoorah I'm Done!' Thread 2005

I handed mine in today! That was pretty exciting :D I couldn't stand it hanging around in my room any more so I palmed it off to my teacher and ran away before she could protest :D :D And magically a HUGE weight just lifted off my shoulders, even though it's been completely finished for...

    bibliography

Yup. Because I didn't have enough words in my reflection statement to show "extensive" research, so I stuck 'em all in at the end. Hopefully it doesn't count in the word limit :D

No, it's 6000-8000 words :p I just finished faking the past 3 months worth of journal entries, yew! :D

    School Concern

You won't be eligible for a UAI: you have to have four subjects, unfortunately. Extensions are not counted as different. If you want to do those subjects, you'll have to go through with 12 units.
