Most annoying book of all time

99.294387% of teen literature. Especially Australian teen literature. I can't stand the way most authors of teen literature are old people, usually retired teachers, trying to write about 'iss-yews' in a manner supposedly accessible to the youth affected by them. Hence the almost uniform...

    Good French phrases for writing?

Writing to a teenage girl, use "Coucou Sandrine!" All my letters from France contain that header! Also, for informal letters, writing phrases like "Ca va? Moi, j'ai la pêche. (Everything's peachy)" is good. :) Amicalement is a good signing off for all letters.

I'm sitting here waiting for it to upload (frickin' dialup), but I just have to say that I love your Sarah Blasko icon, absolution*. She's so hot...

    Blogs/Online Journals and Diaries

As a frequent blogger and LJer, I couldn't agree more. You've hit the nail on the head. I LJ for a selected LJ friends list (people I know), and it is largely for self therapy. It's boring to people who don't know me, of course, but it enables me to get advice from people I don't get to see...

    Blogs/Online Journals and Diaries

I agree that blogging is not hugely powerful. Sure, blogs may change certain people's attitudes, but they're in no way tantamount to the power that real mass media (radio, newspapers, TV, Andrew frickin' Bolt) exercises. It's quite hard to get your blog to rise above the detritus and be widely...

More memoirs than autos, but still great: Frank McCourt - Angela's Ashes Eric Campbell - Absurdistan (great even if you really really aren't a foreign affairs person! only a smidgin better if you are)

    anyone out there red Catch-22?

If you liked C22 you'll most probably love Douglas Adams' Hitchikers' series. Quite similar style of writing/absurd humour.

    Falls Festival 05-06

Oh, good! So I'm not the only one. I fell asleep on the grubby hessian stuff for the first half of his set, then went back to my camp for munchies. I wasn't all that impressed.

    Falls Festival 05-06

Who did you like? I personally thought the Black Keys (listening to them now :D) were the highlight in terms of quality set, but I was too out-of-it by that time to really enjoy it, unfortunately. Other than that, I loved the Living End, JBT, Donovan Frankenreiter, and Mia Dyson. There are...

I'm confused. What is this diary you speak of? Can I find it on Amazon?

Most annoying book of all time

I won't argue with you on the depressing point. I haven't read the book, but I enjoyed the 1989 movie version. It is one of my biggest influences for my (VCE) Media Studies major production. :)

Do you regularly read any magazine publications?

I just remembered another one : there's a free Melbourne quarterly mini-mag that you can find in various cafes, shops etc. called ACE (Arts Culture Entertainment). Its layout is well wicked, as is its content. I love the concept.

    Should i read the bible?

I read the Children's Illustrated Bible when I was about eight. The emerging atheist (I was raised a Catholic) in me just thought "okay, some of these stories are pretty cool" and that's the full extent of it.

    girls doing physics

There have been studies showing that females tend to be more literate, communicative, and talented at humanities, etc., and the other way round for males. I don't know why it is. It just is.

    Favourite Character?

Ahhhh, many, many hours of my childhood were spent perusing the adventures of Kirsty and her gang. I liked Stacey best. I could have lengthy discussions on this series. ... now I want to go back and re-read them! And some Friends-4-Eva. They were sooooooooo cool! ----------------- Okay, good...
