I love it how all these talks of race riots has led to references of aussies vs lebs...like those lebanese weren't Australian. They were probably just as Australian as the whites who beat them up. Serious ? I tought Emma Watson was easily the best in this film and she has easily been the best in all the others. She's got a future. Daniel Radcliffe is absolutely awful though........almost every scene of his was pretty close to dreadul.

That's a valid point. The problem with this is, I don't see any asian-australian characters at all....we're not asking for the whole damn cast....more like one regular character on a popular mainstream show, IF they are as talented as the rest of the cast. You're right about why they did use the actors that they did....it was so they could get some name box office stars. Without that, there's no way they would have spent 85 million on this. I do wonder about japanese actors that can speak english unaccented....without the hint of any accent...

Don't know if any of these have been mentioned, but these are some of the women that I've thought were quite good looking from some of the stuff I've seen in the past year or so.

Good point....it's either than or the comedy of actually hearing this broken english type accent (it's pretty bad). And if it was all in japanese, the project would never have been funded as it wouldn't have enough of a mainstream appeal.

Yeah...accented english argh....not really that impressed by that decision. Should have used american actors.

Did it matter at all though ? If Tamlyn Tomita had played her I reckon there would have been no difference in the charcater at all. I'd rather a chinese-american played that character than some foreigner from Japan, consdiering that foreigner won't be able to play anything else in an american...

This isn't really a problem....caucasian actors do this all the time...like french people play dutch characters or whatever. I don't get why asians are so special in that we need to continously distinguish each group....it just means good asian actors can't ever get any decent parts. For example...

Yeah true, he was quite good against Nalbandian and Santoro. But he usually manages to play his best some time in a tournament....he usually screws up when he peaks too early (eg Australian Open 2005 when he stormed through to the semis and played well against Safin but was only at about 85%)...

Nalbandian got spanked. If Hewitt plays like he did this morning, he won't fare much better in the semis either. And Federer still hasn't played a really good match yet....I'm thinking some bagels and breadsticks might be handed out before the Open is over.
