So they are not "really" into challenging themselves are they? They just want to learn exactly the same "standard" stuff in 2 yrs where as everybody else spends just 1 yr on it.

I don't really know to what extent they work ahead. I just went by on what was said about kids doing stuff in yr9 that was taught to everbody else in yr12. I said it earlier... clear me up if I'm assuming anything wrong anywhere...I guess i just jumped too ahead of myself then.

Yep, I see your point. But I agree with critiek. There are other ways of challenging them than teaching ahead...or getting the chance to study for a subject over two years where as everybody else gets only one year to cover the same amount of work.

Alright, I agree with you there I go to a selective school myself and I can say that most of the students are capable of learning at a faster pace. I'm sure there can be a middleground where a school that is has capable students can teach ahead just as JR does.

Since your'e listening... Me "lobbying" to get my school to study ahead would have no result. The teachers aren't allowed to do it and nobody else would want to. So basically, your saying "too bad coz you go to a school that cheats."

That's besides the point. There's a differebce between me borrowing a book on 4u maths and teaching myself the course and a teacher teaching their whole class ahead of time.

There's a difference between asking for harder work or taking it on individually- outside of school and the teachers teaching the course to their students before other schools get the chance. As far as I thought, accelerating is not that you start studying for a subject or topic 2 (or whatever) years before you give the exam for it... if you wanna acclerate, you have to give the hsc exam the year you study for it accordingly. I think this is incredibely unfair, because I'm sure...
