Did anyone write the 6mark algorithm??

i think even if your algorithm didnt even relate to the question, you still get marks for indenting, correct use of key words with capitals etc. (likewise, you lose marks for not using these things)

    2002 Q3

While developing a software package for a buisness, the developer should maintain effective channels of communication with the end users of the system. On which of the following would the end user input be likely to have the most impact? (A) Financial feasibility (B) Operational...

    Exam timing...

you should spend a considerable amount of time on multiple choice though. They are worth 1 mark each, and a total of 20 marks. thats quite a percentage of the total mark. Multiple choice are easy to gain marks on, but also far to easy to lose marks on.

    ah...desk checking anyone....???

 u dont even know what test data is. its just any data you use to test an algorithm or source code. You should pick test data that tests outside the boundaries, close to the boundaries, on the boundaires and well within the boundaries of the algorithm eg IF count > 10 THEN ..... here...

    Exam timing...

time isnt an issue for me in SDD, you can usually do the exam twice over in the time they give you. I think the extra time is for creating your own algorithms, as they can be difficult to produce under rushed curcumstances.

    standard model of mattrer

How much detail do we need to go into when discussing the standard model of matter. obviusoly you need to mention leptons and quarks (as it says in the dotpoint) I mean, its the standard model of matter for crying out load, you could write a thesis on it. (PS dont you think its weird that the...

i see that is not my veiw though, i see them both making as much sense as each other.

    Religious affiliation

from non religous perspective: there is nothing magical about magic, they are tricks, noone has magical powers. there is no such thing as witchcraft. People may think they are a witch/wizard, but people also think we are being visited by aliens. There is less proof to witchcraft then there is...

the software developers view of the hardware

any control paramters that will be asked in the exam will be given to you in the question. So i dont think you need to know what any are specifically.

    Project management techniques?

i agree that if they are going to spend up to 50% on 'practical' then the there should be less content in the sylabus. It makes you feel you have wasted ur time when you finish an exam and 80% of the stuff you studied for wasnt in it.

    Binary Division

i thought it was in 03, and there isnt enough SDD papers to say 'they havnt asked it so they wont' If they hadnt asked a question in say 10 years, then you could probably overlook it slightly, and not expect a 5 mark question on it, but software is only 3 years old (i think)

    so 1 day left

when doing multiplcation, i and there are like 4 rows to add, i will add the first two rows, then the 3rd onto that, then the fourth onto that. That way you dont get confused. PS. Cramming is the best

    Logic Circuits

you need to use boolean algerbra to construct more complicated curcuits, but in sams book he says this is 'extension' and out of the course, yet on the independant trial, you were required to know it. There are too many contradictions and the sylabus is too vauge, not only in this area but all...

    Logic Circuits

I just looked at Q25 in 2001 hsc and it talks about designing a logic circuit. A read a little about this in sams book, with the boolean algerbra ect. Are we really expected to know this, and all the rules for boolean algerbra? EDIT: I just realised how easy the question in the paper was. So...

    Hsc 2002 Q. 25 C

I'm also having a bit of troulbe with it. Its quite a big question (2 pages) so heres a link: 2002 Paper page 21. I was wondering, whats an acceptable method of extracting the binary string into an array? Would it be acceptable to say, WHILE there are more characters in the string read...
